2 Capital Campaign Update Mass Schedule Adjustments - September 24 To help accommodate the traffic and parking needs for Sunday morning, the Spanish Mass is moving to noon effective Sunday, September 24. When the construction fencing goes up and Sunday Masses are moved to the Gym, we know that traffic patterns will change as will parking practices. In order to help those leaving the 10 a.m. Mass and those coming to the Spanish Mass, it was important that we separate the end of the 10 and the beginning of the Spanish Mass by at least one hour. We hope that moving the Spanish Mass to noon for the period of construction will help to reduce the stress of getting to and from these Masses. In advance, thank you to the Spanish Mass community and ministers for helping to accommodate this change. How Will We Celebrate Funerals after the Move Out? For many current and former parishioners, a long cherished hope is that of being buried out of St. Theresa Church. We hear it said, "I was married at St. Theresa, I hope to be buried there as well." St. Theresa Church is larger than any single building. Being buried at St. Theresa is more about the family, parishioners, staff, deacons and priests who gather with family and friends to grieve with and celebrate the life of loved ones. For the period of construction, most funerals will be celebrated in the Fellowship Hall, which was the original Church building at St. Theresa. Most funerals have congregations of less than 100 which can comfortably fit in the Fellowship Hall for the funeral Mass. Again, this is just one more way that we will make adjustments to gather our parish family for the most important occasions -- including funerals -- during the period of construction. If you are Confirmed and a junior or senior in high school, we invite you to register for our New High School Faith Formation class. Our new class will focus on making the transition to college and other topics relevant in the world today. 6 An Evening of Remembering Through the Sacraments What better way to continue our journey together than having an evening of remembrance by revisiting, a calling to mind, of God s love poured out through the sacraments which unites us all? Sacraments are the way in which God has chosen to freely give himself to us, hence his divine life of light and love, through the Paschal Mystery the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord. Through the sacraments we are born (Baptism), nourished (Eucharist), strengthened (Confirmation), healed (Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick) and serve (Marriage and Holy Orders) Friday, September 15 at 7 pm in the church until 8:30 we will have an opportunity to share stories of our faith through song and worship, followed by drinks and refreshments. In light of this celebration where we journey together celebrating our roots through remembrance and our future through hope and anticipation, we are seeking out those who have received sacraments here in the early years of our Parish.
