2 FROM FATHER PHIL My Dear Parishioners, As we enter the fourth week of Lent, we hear Jesus telling his listeners that he is to be lifted up in the manner that Moses lifted the serpent in the desert. For those of you who attend the 10:00 a.m. Mass, you will hear the beautiful story of the Man Born Blind. This Gospel is read in preparation of the Scrutiny ritual for Chris, who will be baptized this Easter. I hope that these sacred texts will lead us deeper and deeper into the mystery of God s love for all his creatures. Please join Deacon Larry and myself on Monday, March 26th through Wednesday, March 28th, evenings of Holy Week. If you can only attend one of the evenings, that is fine. We will have a light supper at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and the presentation from 7:00 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. Our theme for the three evening is Why did Jesus have to suffer? We will explore the roots of violence, the Jewish Feast of the Atonement and Jesus the Forgiving Victim. My hope for our time together, is that through scripture and prayer we will enter more fully into the three most important days in the Church s year: Holy Thursday Good Friday The Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday With every good wish and for spring travelers a safe trip, Fr. Este evangelio se lee en preparación del ritual de escrutinio por Chris, quien será bautizado en la Pascua. Espero que estos textos sagrados nos guien más y más hacia el misterio del amor de Dios por todas sus criaturas. Por favor acompanenos al Diácono Larry y a mí del lunes 26 de marzo hasta el miércoles 28 de marzo por la noches en la Semana Santa. Si solo puedes asistir a una de las tardes, está bien. 5 In Need of Eucharistic Minister to the Homebound The homebound ministers are in need of more helping hands to bring Communion to St. Theresa s parishioners that cannot join us at Mass each week. We pray, we acknowledge our sins, we share the Gospel, and they receive the Eucharist. We discuss the goings-on at St. Theresa s, keeping them up to date with the Parish they still feel so close to.
