The weather slowed everyone and everything down and, we had to cancel our Pro-Life Mass and our Presbyterian Shelter Sandwich Making Night, that was disappointing. The snow was beautiful, so I hope everyone enjoyed the snow. We have our Corporate Communion to look forward to, and that is always a successful event thanks to the hard work of Joe Pistey and Dick Beckrich and their crews. We look forward to seeing everyone there. April is looking much better and we should be back on schedule. We had a really good turnout at our meetings in March. That really boosted my spirit and I hope everyone continues to come out and support the Council. We are still looking for nominees for the upcoming year. Our nominating committee would be happy to hear from anyone interested in becoming an Officer or Director. I really appreciate everyone that has sent in their dues for this year. There are still a lot of individuals that haven t sent their dues in, and we need to hear from you. Our Council depends on all the members that pay dues, to be vigilant and dependable. I look forward to seeing everyone out to participate in our Meetings and our Mass for the Unborn and the Night shelter, and I really look forward to the beautiful weather continuing. Church Jack Kearney, PGK The next Knights of Columbus Mass at St. Bartholomew Church will be April 26th at 11:00 AM. We ask all brother Knights of St. Bartholomew Parish to please attend and sit together. Our next Pro-Life Mass will be on Monday, April 27th at Saint Francis Village Chapel. We need all the prayers we can get. The Rosary will begin at 7:05 PM followed with the Mass at 7:30 PM. Coffee and snacks after Mass.

4 Pro-Life Jack Kearney, PGK MIT professor Jonathan Gruber has not only gotten in trouble for bragging about helping President Obama put one over on the American people with Obamacare, he s also been uncovered as an abortion advocate - but not a run-of-the-mill advocate of women s rights. No, Gruber s abortion advocacy is of a particularly pungent eugenics variety. He believed in using abortion as a social good because it reduces the number of marginal children by which he means urban poor or those he says can be counted on to commit crimes if they were ever born. Sounds like Hitler. Gruber argued that legal abortion had saved the U.S. taxpayer upwards of $14 billion in welfare benefits and that it also lowered crime. Pro-Lifers have always wondered why the black community has not responded more aggressively to the fact that so many abortion clinics are located in poor neighborhoods and why the black abortion rate is so much higher than whites. A documentary called Maafa 21 states that abortion is a part of what they called a black genocide. African-American marketing expert Ryan Scott Bomberger founded an organization called The Radiance Foundation that makes commercials for the unborn child with a special emphasis on the high incidence of black abortion. Emmy-winning Bomberger s campaign looks specifically at black abortion. He calls abortion a civil wrong and that blacks are still not free at last because of abortion. Bomberger is being sued by the NAACP for calling the group pro-abortion. A group called 41 Percent tracks all abortions in New York City, which has an abortion rate at twice the national average, points out that the abortion rate in the largely black Bronx borough is an astounding 47%. These are the types of communities Gruber meant when he referred the marginal children who were the most likely to end up on welfare and committing crimes if they were allowed to be born. I find it strange that Obama and a racist like Gruber would have anything in common. I guess they both hate babies. Sunshine Vic Fedor, PGK Many of our Brothers and family members are in need of our daily prayers. Please notify me if you want me to remove or add someone s name to the bulletin's prayer list. Our Council has decided, if we don't hear from you after four months, I will start removing names and place them on our long term prayer list on the Council bulletin board at the hall. Call me at or me at victorfedor@sbcglobal.net. Also, notify me if you want me to send a Get Well or Sympathy Card to someone. Also, for our Brother Knights, their wives or their family members that have passed away, please notify me so a Gate Fold of Spiritual Union of Perpetual Adoration can be given to surviving family members. A Get Well Card was sent to Mary Stallings (Wife of PGK Morris Stallings) who had open heart surgery. PGK Dudley LaJaunie passed away on March 12th. He was enrolled in the Spiritual Union of Perpetual Adoration and a gate fold was given to the family. A Sympathy Card was also sent to the family. A Sympathy was sent to Georgia Miller on the death of her sister, Mildred McConahey and a Gate Fold of Spiritual Union of Perpetual Adoration was sent. Pray for our country and its leaders, especially our President and all our military and their families. The power of prayer is strong indeed and we should wield that power often. Community Brad Pierce The Presbyterian Night Shelter (PNS) Sandwich Making Night is still on the fourth Tuesday of the month at St. Francis Village, at 7:00 PM sharp - Arrive Early! The next PNS evening will be Tuesday, April 28th. Member s Phone Update LaFleur, John & Linda Nominating Committee 2015/2016 John LaFluer/PGK Bill Miller/Tony Garcia Elections will be held at the Business Meeting on June 8. Those members who are interested in running for an officer s position should contact one of the Nominating Committee members (John LaFleur at , PGK Bill Miller at or Tony Garcia at ). Brother Knights, the fraternal year will be coming to an end and it is time for us to start thinking about electing Council Officers. Knights of Columbus Council 2813 cannot continue to exist without a Grand Knight, so someone must step-up and run for the Grand Knight position. Bill Miller, PGK, will stay on and move from 2nd Year Trustee to 3rd Year Trustee. Si Seligman would be moving from 1st Year Trustee to 2nd Year Trustee, however, Si will be moving to Houston creating a 2nd Year Trustee vacancy. Past Grand Knights Jack Bibbs and Jim Justice and GK John Freeman have stepped up to run for these Trustee positions. In accordance with our By-Laws, the slate of proposed officers must be published in the monthly bulletin prior to the election of officers. This slate of nominees is presented to the Council by the nominating committee. Nominations will also be taken from the floor on election evening, 8 June Chaplain and Lecturer are appointed by the Grand Knight and the Financial Secretary is appointed by Supreme.
