4 GRAND KNIGHT S MESSAGE Dear Brothers, Brothers, I would like to thank Hans, our District Deputy for having our Officers Installation on Friday July 28. We had all of our Officers attend except for Al Powers, due to a funeral in his family. Our prayers go out to his family. Ron Adams did a great job on the main dinner and everyone else shard a dish, thank you. Our past Grand Knight Steve Gaston was honored for his dedication over the last 2 years as well as Mary, Steve s wife. Brothers, our next general meeting will be on Monday August 7 at 7 p.m. at Evans Brown Mortuary at Encanto Dr. Menifee, due to the closure of the hall at church for the month of August. The officers meeting on August 28 th at 630pm will also be at Evans Brown. On a positive note food and beer will be allowed back at the meetings. We also no longer need to read the Minutes, Treasurers or Financial Secretaries reports at the meetings because they are all now available online on our website ( To be able to view ALL of the reports you need to go to the Members Only section on our webpage and login. The username is your KofC member number and the password is your date of birth. In light of that wonderful news I expect to see our attendance way up at ALL of the meetings. The golf cart sales are going well, but we all need to sell and purchase tickets for the success of this fundraiser. We will be talking more about doing another Casino Night as well as a possible chili cook off and car show, both in the spring of We are in need of volunteers for the Family Fun Day Weekend Sat. and Sun. Sept 9 and 10 for hamburgers. Unfortunately, as hard as I fought for our council, it appears that we will once again not be having our country breakfast on Sun. Sept. 10. I am trying to get it approved for the following Sunday Sept. 17, stay tuned. Brothers, we as a council really need to keep our parish in prayer so that somehow, we can pull all ministries to working together instead of being pulled apart! With the help of our new Chaplain Fr. Clarence, maybe something can get accomplished. We as a council can only help where we are invited and put ourselves out there to reach out and evangelize for unite! Our new officers are excited about what this new year will bring and no matter how big the challenge or whether or not people like us or not, we are here to do our small part for our Lord Jesus Christ and cannot let small minded people get in the way for working for God! For the time being, we will be overseen by our new General Agent, Stephen Melancon. Brother Melancon is a past Grand Knight. He resides in Las Vegas, has his office there, and will be responsible for the entire California-Nevada area. He is looking to recruit new field agents in our area. We hope to have him visit our Council before too long. The web address for our site is As a member of the Council you will be able to see upcoming events, including meetings, charity drives, and the degree schedule. You will also be able to log in to the site and post prayer requests and update your information as you see fit. The monthly newsletter as well as the budget will also be placed on the site. *****IMPORTANT***** Even if you don t have access to a computer or the internet, you can help us with fundraising from the comfort of your own home. In order for you to help our council in fundraising, we ask that you share the website with your family and friends anywhere in the world. The purpose of this is simple. Now like we said, you don t need a computer, but we are pretty sure that some of your family and friends might have one. Here is why it is important that you share the web address with everyone: On the very first page of the site, there is a button Our Amazon Link. Amazon is an online retailer for purchasing almost anything from socks to furniture and everything in between. Think of it as a WalMart, but with many, many more items to shop from. All anyone has to do is to click on that link to get access to Amazon for the purpose of shopping. Anything that anyone purchases through our link to the Amazon site, Amazon will donate 8% of the total to the Knights of Columbus.
