4 GRAND KNIGHT S MESSAGE Hello Brothers, I hope everyone is surviving this heat wave and drinking lots of water. We finally reached the end of August and the end of the closure of the Church Hall. I am sure you all are ready to get back to business as usual. Once again, a reminder that the officer s meetings are on the last Monday of the month at 6:30p.m. and the regular meeting is on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the church coffee room. Our first event coming up will be to participate in the church Family Fun Weekend on Sat. and Sun. Sept. 9 and 10. We will need volunteers to help cook hamburgers on Sat. from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., please see Manny to sign up for your time. ALL PROCEEDS TO GO TO THE BUILDING FUND!!!!!!!! The next event is a Spaghetti Dinner at the Parish Hall on Saturday, September 16 th at 5p.m.. There will be no presale tickets to this event. We will be selling tickets at the door for $10 cash or atm and credit cards will be accepted. Everyone is welcome. We will once again finally bring back the Country Breakfast on Sun. Sept 24 after the 8:15 mass and hopefully then go back to the second Sun. of each month!!! Please watch for the NEW SIGNS that will be placed on the front lawn of the church one week before ALL of our breakfast and dinner events. We will also be participating in the upcoming Trunk or Treat event in Oct., details TBD. Our golf cart sales have been going very well. we are about half way to covering the cost of the cart. Please do not forget to buy your tickets, and if you would like to help sell come of them, please see Ron Adams. Our Christmas Dinner will be on Dec. 9, when we will draw the winner of the golf cart. If you would like to be on the Christmas Committee, please see Deputy Grand Knight Randy Cruise, Manny Tinoco or Jeff Nowell. Again we will need help. On another note, we are pleased to announce that the Amazon link is back up and running. We appreciate the opportunity to share this with everyone and very much appreciate the continued patronage of Amazon through our link located on our website Thank you for all you do, and remember why we all joined the Knights, and please bring your dues current, if you have not done so. We could do so much more if we did not have to waste our funds paying for those who simple do not take their obligation serious! Please see Mike Castillejos to bring them current. This could include: Rosaries, K of C lapel pins, hats, shirts, replacement badges, current cards, etc. The new shirts are in. Please see me at the general meeting or leave a message on my cell phone (951) , to place your order. These are polo style shirts very similar to the current ones. For the time being, we will be overseen by our new General Agent, Stephen Melancon. Brother Melancon is a past Grand Knight. He resides in Las Vegas, has his office there, and will be responsible for the entire California-Nevada area. He is looking to recruit new field agents in our area. We hope to have him visit our Council before too long. 9 Dear Brother Knights: Knights of Columbus, Council 7846, of Sun City, is proud to announce that we now have a website. The web address for our site is As a member of the Council you will be able to see upcoming events, including meetings, charity drives, and the degree schedule. You will also be able to log in to the site and post prayer requests and update your information as you see fit. The monthly newsletter as well as the budget will also be placed on the site. *****IMPORTANT***** Even if you don t have access to a computer or the internet, you can help us with fundraising from the comfort of your own home. In order for you to help our council in fundraising, we ask that you share the website with your family and friends anywhere in the world. The purpose of this is simple. Now like we said, you don t need a computer, but we are pretty sure that some of your family and friends might have one. Here is why it is important that you share the web address with everyone: On the very first page of the site, there is a button that looks like this: Amazon is an online retailer for purchasing almost anything from socks to furniture and everything in between. Think of it as a WalMart, but with many, many more items to shop from. All anyone has to do is to click on that link to get access to Amazon for the purpose of shopping. Anything that anyone purchases through our link to the Amazon site, Amazon will donate 8% of the total to the Knights of Columbus.
