Nobles and Ladies of Moslah: Well, we re off to the races and in the full swing of things at Moslah as I write this article. Philip H. Trew, Jr. Your Divan has been making unit and club visits during the month of February, and will continue to do so in March. We attended Divan mid-winter a couple of weeks ago, and were tasked with creating both a mission and vision statement for Moslah. The Divan, with some assistance from Nobles in our Temple, came up with a mission and vision statement which we ll vote on at the March business meeting. Thereafter, we will post these statements in the Moslah News, as well as some other conspicuous places to be a constant reminder to each of us. Lady Sarah and I extend our thanks to all Nobles and Ladies who attended the Potentate s Ball. I think a good time was had by all, and the food and music were both outstanding. Please be vigilant in your efforts to sustain our membership and growth. If you know of a Noble who you have not seen in awhile, or Fredrick L. Kennedy George N. Nelson, P.P. Houston Hospital Board Member D. Michael Wallach... Galveston Hospital Board Member 2 In Memoriam who has recently gone suspended, reach out to them. Let them know that they re still important to the Shrine, and you d like to see them. Invite them to a Shrine event. Most importantly, keep in contact with them. Our first line of defense is taking care of the Nobles that we already have in Moslah. Along those same lines, we plan on bringing back a few Games Nights, to which you can bring prospects. Dates for these functions will be announced soon. The March business meeting will have a ladies program. The Divan Ladies have several exciting programs already planned for this year. We hope that all Nobles will bring their ladies and keep them involved. TSA in Waco is just around the corner, and we know that all units are already practicing hard for their competitions. Your Divan is there to support you at every turn. As I stated at the Potentate s Ball, please be grateful for your families, friends, jobs and whatever other good fortunes you have. Also, be grateful that you re a part of this great organization and all that it has to offer. Yours in the faith, Illustrious Sir, Phil Trew Cleo Rosales James M. They are Past State Commander Paul Sawyer-Commander, Past Commander Ted Madsen-1 st Lt. Commander, Past State Commander Pat James-2 nd Lt. Commander, Past State Commander Rick Trimble-Adj. and Past State Commander Don Gibson-Finance Officer. We want to thank the Legion Nobles for stepping up to the plate once again to serve our Unit and Moslah Temple. We are preparing to attend the Texas Associations Legion of Honor Mid-Winter February 28-March 4. Commander Sawyer would like to take part in the In-Line Inspection and requests that those taking part to be in their Class B uniform. That means there should be nothing on your uniform shirt but your rank and ribbons. In April we have the International meeting. If you haven t signed up, time is running out. Please check the web site ialoh.org for a registration form. We need to make a big showing for International Commander Gilbert Medina. We should have a great time. Remember, we still know how to serve. YITF Jack Tuomey, PIC 15 Bedouins The Bedouins congratulate Illustrious Sir, Phil Trew and the entire 2017 Divan. It s going to be a great year for Moslah!! Calling all Bedouins Band practice has started every Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Masonic Temple. It s that time of year again and band practice is in full swing. We are gearing up for TSA 2017 in Waco, Texas. The Bedouins are proud to announce that we have been asked by Hella Shrine Potentate, Illustrious Sir Bob Moore to perform at the Hella Shrine Ceremonial on April 1, Please keep an eye out for s with the details! The Bedouin spring formal will be Saturday, March 4 at Marquis on Magnolia and the Bedouin Night Out will start up again in April. Check for information about any Bedouin activates.

16 Car-Vettes Wow, February went by pretty quickly and here we are in March. The Potentate s Ball was really something, huh? A BIG thanks to all of the behind the scene workers who helped make it a success. It s good to work and have fun together as Nobles while we support our Shrine functions. Well, I spoke with Colonel Cecil and he has called our first practice for the first Sunday in March, weather permitting. Here s an invite to the folks who may want to come out to watch our practices, laugh some and visit with us. We d really like to have you there. A Dutch-treat lunch somewhere will most likely follow. Some of our wonderful Car-vette ladies also join us to add support and class to our endeavors. The drivers who may be selected to represent our unit in competition this year in various activities are going to be honing their skills so they can represent Moslah proudly. Safety is always number one with our unit, but showmanship is right up there also. The annual IHOP venture is scheduled for the 7th of March. Just for the record, ANY Shriner who would like to work with the Car-vettes for this occasion is more than welcome. It would be a great time to find out more about our fantastic unit. Contact any of us for more details about location and times. Our first parade of this year is the Lake Dallas Mardi Gras parade which is held on the 24th of February. Nice crowd, friendly people and a good way to start our year off. When you wear green for St. Patrick s day on March 17, let it remind you about the Pickle Parade that is held on the 18th in Mansfield. Your Car-vettes will be there with our colorful cars and uniform. This is one of our favorite parades to go to. If you go, come by and visit with us in the staging area. Oh yeah, as an early heads up, another of our really great parades will be on April 8. It s the very special Medal of Honor parade in Gainesville. Same day as our temple Spring Dance, will make for a full, fantastic day! Hope to see some of you there! Gainesville Medal of Honor Parade Nobles, have you picked out or are you talking to at least one new candidate for our Shrine yet? With 12 units, 9 clubs, and 2 associations, there just has to be something that a candidate would find interesting! Yeah, yeah, I know, some of the units are struggling, but that s just because they need some new members with new ideas. The good news is there s still time to do it. Find a brother Mason who likes to have fun. Speaking of fun, did you know The story that Abner Doubleday invented baseball is false. In reality, he had nothing to do with the game. The poem, Casey at the Bat includes a rather significant error. Casey struck out in the bottom of the eighth inning - his team would have had another at bat. The story about George Washington chopping down a cherry tree is false. 16 Mystic Wheels Hello Moslah Nobles and Ladies! What a great time the Mystic Wheels had at the Potentate s Ball. This was a really nice event and everyone liked the Ft Worth Club location. Congratulations again to Illustrious Sir Phil Trew and the Moslah Divan and Ladies. The Mystic Wheels Valentine s party / Yacht Club was a huge success. Great location and very well planned by our hardworking entertainment committee, Weezy and April! A particularly fun evening voyage was enjoyed by all present. There were nice gifts for the Ladies, great food, drink, and friendship. Everyone had a fine time and returned safely to port. Both our competition teams are practicing now and preparing to defend our 2016 Championship in Waco. This drill is really going to fly. Visit our Facebook Page for even more details of events and videos of our drill teams. Hey Moslah Nobles, are you and your Lady looking for a unit home? Looking to join a great group of Masonic brothers, make lasting friendships and have more fun than you can imagine? Well check out the Mystic Wheels! We are a family oriented group with the ladies and kids (and grandkids) at all our events! We ride inexpensive, traditional, open wheel go karts that are super fun to drive. In addition, we play a key role in all temple and blue lodge activities. Call Bob Roth , Sonny Francks or Brett Wiesner for information and a visit. Come see why so many Nobles have made us their unit home! Still the LARGEST and friendliest motorized unit in Texas! Bill Dillard Car-Vettes continued Hey guys... if you are looking to join a unit that will give you a BIG return on camaraderie and fun, look no further, the Car-vettes is the one for YOU! Yep, you too can wear our flashy yellow unit shirt, just join our unit and help us with our activities. If any Noble is wondering about joining our unit and would like to test drive one of our super classy little yellow cars (pictured above), all you have to do is let us know. You can contact President R. J. Forester at , Colonel Cecil LeMond at , or really, any of our members. We are a VERY proud bunch of fellas and will be happy to talk to you about our unit. Chuck Huddleston, Car-Vettes
