Contact the Parish Office 4 to 6 months before to schedule Baptism Preparation. Classes are held the 4th Sunday of the month after 10AM Mass. Sacrament of Marriage: Call the Parish Office at least 6 months in advance of desired wedding date to schedule an appointment with Father in order to set the wedding date & begin the preparation process. Sacrament of Reconciliation: 30 minutes prior to Mass or any other time by appointment. Communion for the Shut-Ins: Please contact Tommy ( ) to schedule visits by a Minister of Communion. Funerals: Families should contact the Funeral Home to make all the necessary arrangements. 5 Mending the Torn Fabric For Those Who Grieve & Those Who Want to Help Them Sarah Brabant, Ph.D. will speak on death and grief issues at Notre Dame High School Chapel, 910 North Eastern Ave., Crowley from 6:30 pm 8:30 pm on Thursday, November 13th. This presentation is suitable for both those who are grieving and those offering assistance. No registration or fee is required. For more information contact Janeth or JHarrington@diolaf.org. The Catholic Divorce Recovery Program is a safe place for divorced adults to heal and find hope with others who are experiencing similar life challenges. Halphen, Ph.D. Office of Marriage and Family Life Diocese of Lafayette or The Feast of All Souls is an important celebration. It is a reminder to us of our own mortality. It is an opportunity for us to remember all those who we have loved and have gone before us in death. But much more than these, this feast day, paired together with the Feast of All Saints, is a powerful sign of our faith in the communion of saints, a doctrine that we confess in the Apostles Creed. What does this mean, the communion of saints? It is the Church. It means that because of Christ I am forever joined to you and you to me. It means that you and I share the same life like two babies in the same womb that you and I, who have known one another here, even if only in passing, will meet again. It means that, no matter what happens to me in life, I have a family that awaits me. Whoever believes in the communion of saints sees death differently. If we believe that we are joined together in this permanent bond in Christ, then we cannot forget the dead. We cannot ignore them. Because we believe in the communion of saints, we accompany one another through life. And we accompany one another even through death. Death cannot separate what Christ has joined together. This is why we pray for the dead. This is why we trust in the intercession of the saints. Let us confess our faith in the unity of Christ s Body as we accompany our brothers and sisters who have gone before us, both in our prayers and affection for them, and in our trust in their intercession for us.
