Sacrament of Marriage: Call the Parish Office at least 6 months in advance of desired wedding date to schedule an appointment with Father in order to set the wedding date & begin the preparation process. Sacrament of Reconciliation: 30 minutes prior to Mass or any other time by appointment. Communion for the Shut-Ins: Please contact Deacon Tommy ( ) to schedule visits by a Minister of Communion. Funerals: Families should contact the Funeral Home to make all the necessary arrangements. 6 Our Lady of Sorrows Retreat Center 103 Railroad Ave., St. Martinville, LA April 4th - 6th Talks by Fr. Michael Champagne, cjc During the retreat you will have quiet time to pray, opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Mass, adoration of the Eucharist, and free time to stroll through the beautiful Retreat Center grounds. Because the community wants to place no obstacles in the way of those who truly want to make a retreat, the retreats are conducted free of charge. Please bring a Bible, paper & pencils, toiletries, towels and washcloths. To register, contact Cheryl Moss at What Suffering Can Teach us Some people once brought a blind man to Jesus and asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? They all wanted to know why this terrible cause had fallen on this man. And Jesus answered, It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be made manifest in him. He told them not to look for why the suffering came but to listen for what the suffering could teach them. Jesus taught that our pain is not punishment, it is no one s fault. When we seek to blame, we distract ourselves from an exquisite opportunity to pay attention, to see even in this pain a place of grace, a moment of spiritual promise and healing. L.A.M.S. Some ask, why not just ship the supplies? In the past, tons of supplies have been stolen and looted from the docks. When they are hand carried, supplies have a better chance to get to the people who really need them. Unfortunately we are only allowed to bring 2 bags per person, so the more people that travel, the more supplies we can bring.
