1 Our Lady of the Most St. Frances Cabrini Church Parish February 25, 2018 WELCOME Hi my name is Noah, I am from Nunez, Louisiana and I grew Website: up in a Catholic family and was homeschooled all the way through high school. After my confirmation and graduation I felt like God was calling me to go to be a missionary so in September of 2013 I joined Family Missions Company. After the three month training I was sent to Ecuador where I spent my first year in missions serving the poor. After a year in Ecuador I went to Peru for almost all of 2015 to do more Catholic missionary work. After Peru I came home to have surgery on my back. During this time I got into contact with Kyle Baudoin who asked if I would be willing to help out with the Life Teen Core, I have been helping out with Life Teen since then when I haven't been working with short term SACRAMENTS mission trips for Family BAPTISM Missions Company. 6 Centennial News Sunday, February 25, 2018 Mother Drexel - On March 3, 1955, Mother Katharine Drexel passed away at the age of 96. She and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, which she founded, would have a profound and lasting effect on the Diocese of Lafayette. With her sisters and her financial support, the diocese founded many parishes and schools, particularly for the African American Catholics in Acadiana. Her support began in New Iberia in 1917 when she donated funds for a new church, school, and hall to be built. The parish was named after her recently deceased brother -in-law Edward. At the time of her death, Mother Drexel was donating $20,000 a year to schools and churches in the diocese. In 2000 she was canonized a Saint by Pope St. John Paul II.
