That means that it is time to make sure that the snowblower works NOW and not while you have ten inches of that white fluffy stuff on the ground.

3 We held our first Assembly meeting September 25 at Mother Seton Council, and they as usual took very good care of us. I have been busy with Masters meetings to learn about the latest events coming up in all our North Jersey Assemblies. We have many events comings up in our Assembly that I will talk about now. October 14, we joined our other Brothers of the First New Jersey District for the second annual Communion breakfast and Mass. The Mass was celebrated at St. Leo Church in Elmwood Park and the breakfast was held at La Neve s in Haledon. Needless to say, any event at La Neve s is always great. Reminder to all Assembly Councils, you can have your upcoming council events displayed on the Assembly website and it will be seen by all our other councils. All events displayed will be taken down after the event date, if I remember. To all Grand Knights, you must have all Form 4 s filled out and accompanied with $70.00 for all your members planning to become Forth Degree Knight. $40.00 will be charged per non-candidate wishing to go to the Military Ball dinner. These forms must be submitted at our next October 23 Assembly meeting at Ridgewood Council #1736. Please remember that we will be having our & Christmas party December 16 at La Neve s Banquet Hall. I know that this event seems far away, but we need this time to let all Assembly councils to set this time aside and purchase a table (10 seats). The price last year was $40 per seat. All councils are also encouraged to make up a Gift Basket, so we can use it for the tricky tray table. This event is very important for the Assembly. So I know this seems like a lot to take in but your Assembly does these events every year and our member councils have always come through. Please help again. Mass At Paramus Veterans There are many Catholic Veterans in residence at the Paramus Veterans Home.

Members of councils and assemblies in the Bergen Federation have been providing this assistance at 10:00 a.m. on the 2 nd and 4 th Saturday of each month.

This is an informal process, just show up at the Paramus Veterans Home and lend a hand pushing a wheelchair. Eucharistic ministers are also urgently needed.

Several of them are disabled and need assistance in getting from their quarters to the location where the Mass is celebrated and after the Mass to return to their quarters. Members of councils and assemblies in the Bergen Federation have been providing this assistance at 10:00 a.m. on the 2 nd and 4 th Saturday of each month. More Knights are needed to provide this assistance, since the health and physical capabilities of many of the long-timers precludes them from providing this act of charity.
