Anderson, Supreme Knight Worthy Sir Knights, I want to thank those Sir Knights, Color Corps, and families that attended the West Coast Walk for Life on Saturday, January 23, Your support for Pro Life as Catholic Gentlemen is our mantra, yet deeply appreciated. Our Holy Father has called us to be Pro Life, from inception to natural death. Since it is legal to kill a baby in the womb, we must keep Pro Life in the forefront as the unborn are the most vulnerable. However, please keep all Pro Life precious and in your heart. Please remember Spring 40 Days For Life starting Ash Wednesday, February 10 through March 20, at a Parish near you. More info at 40daysforlife.com/sacramento Sir Knights, as St. Valentine s Day approaches again this year on February 14, please take the time and resources to do something very special for your wife or significant companion in your life. Throughout the year, our Lady Knights give us their undying support in all our activities. This is their day, so let us make it special. Sir Knights if you know of a 1st Degree Brother Knight in your Council who missed the 2 nd & 3 rd Degree Exemplifications at St. Paul Parish (Florin Road) on February 6, 2016, the Arden- Carmichael Council #4970 is hosting the 2 nd & 3 rd Degree Exemplifications on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Church. All 3 rd Degree Brother Knights should be thinking seriously about attending the 4 th Degree Exemplification (Patriotism) on Saturday, April 16, They will not be disappointed! This Exemplification to become a Sir Knight is like no other. Form 4 s need to be submitted at our MLA Meeting on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, hosted by Lincoln Council, as the March meeting may be too close for submission the District Master. Candidate s checks, payable to Mother Lode Assembly #2778, for $87.00 need accompany the their Form 4. There will be forthcoming announcements regarding the 4 th Degree weekend, hospitality suite, and orientation for candidates. Please check your s closely. Call me with any questions. 3 February Color Corps Report Jan 19th through February 16th, we have had only one call-out: at St. Clare Church on Friday, January 29th, for a funeral Mass for the wife of one of our own members, Hank Deeken. The Mass for Pidge Deeken, was scheduled for11:00am. We had seven Color Corps members participate at the Funeral Mass. There were two other call-outs for assistance outside of our area: 2016 West Coast Walk for Life Mass at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, 1111 Gough St., San Francisco, on Saturday, January 23, 2016 with the Color Corps arrival time at 8:30 AM and Mass start time at 9:30 AM. Rite of Election/Call to Continuing Conversion at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament on Saturday, February 13th, with the Color Corps arrival time at 6:30 PM and the event start time at 7:30 PM. As of the writing of this report no member had volunteered to participate in either event. As reported last month an inventory of MLA CC equipment was made. We have five(5) red capes, one(1) white cape, three(3) swords, four (4) chapeaus and one(1) pair of shoes available to loan to any member wishing to become a Color Corps member. We also have enough funds to advance to any member wishing to become a Color Corps member to purchase his own equipment to be repaid to the MLA over the next year or two. Starting at the March 15th meeting the Color Corps will start practicing on hour prior to the scheduled meeting every month. NORM CHAVEZ, Color Corps Commander, MLA
