1 Knights of Columbus Western Metroplex Chapter Newsletter October 2015 Meeting: The October Western Metroplex Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 28, at the Council 7641 Hall at 1319 Brown Trail in Bedford. Meal will be served at 6:30-7:30. Meeting will begin at 7:30 P.M. President s Corner Greetings to all my Brother Knights, The September minutes are attached to this newsletter for review by the membership. Please look at these important pieces of information and review the council reports to help with ideas that may improve your council s activities. If you have an important event coming up in the future more than a month, print up a flyer or memo that you can pass out to everyone then only mention it to the membership. So they can read the handout. You can also post your events on the chapter website or contact SK Bill Tillotson, the webmaster, and he will help you get that done. It will reach a much larger audience that way. I would like to say thank you to Pat Henz and Craig Modrzynski for their presentation. I know that it was informative and helpful to both the Councils and Assemblies. Many questions were asked. On October 17th, the exchanged of the Silver Rose occurred in Gainesville. I am sorry that I was not able to attend due to a family event. But I heard that everything went well and everyone had a good time. This coming Saturday is All Hallows Eve. If your Church is sponsoring a trunk or treat party or a Halloween party on Saturday, please help support it and keep our kids safe. If your kids are going door to door trick or treating, please be safe by having them or you carry a flashlight or lantern turned on so that vehicles can see you walking. Sunday (November 1st) is the day that commemorates all those who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven. (All Saint s Day) Monday (November 2nd) is The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. (All Souls Day) On November 7, 2015 is the Bishop Pro-Life Dinner. Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott is the keynote speaker. We have been asked to raise $5000 and sponsor the keynote speaker. If each of the 54 Councils donates a $100, we can meet this goal. Council 759 is donating $500 toward this goal and has issued a Diocese-wide challenge to all the Councils to match their contribution. As 2015 is coming to a close, we are moving toward Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please take time to help those less fortunate who need food, clothing, and shelter. There are plenty of folks in our parishes and community who are in need of those basic needs. 1
2 God bless you and your families. Vivat Jesus, Ruben Cisneros President, Fort Worth Western Metroplex Chapter VP Corner If you have not paid your council dues yet, please pay your dues as soon as possible. Remember that when we have elections or an item is brought up for a vote in a Chapter Meeting, only Councils that have paid their dues are eligible to vote on the matter up for vote.
