Welcome Operation Barnabas Orientation (Leaders June 19-23); (Students June 23-28) Please welcome the Operation Barnabas Student Teams this morning. We are pleased to host their Orientation this week. They will divide into two teams and start touring Northern California and Southern California on Thursday, June 28 th. A Fun Way to Serve Operation Barnabas: On Tuesday, June 26, we are looking for about people who are willing to come and interact with the OB Students from 6:30pm-8:00pm. OB Students will be learning to start conversations with others and they need people who they can practice starting conversations with. Consider joining us Tuesday night! The Southern California Team will visit our church from Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15. More details to come on how you can be involved.

5 What is Operation Barnabas? Operation Barnabas is a three week high school summer ministry training program equipping students to live ON MISSION through evangelism training, character development, and servantleadership. The intense United States-based training and travel equips students to share their faith, perform in music, dance, drama, share their testimonies, be actively engaged in a discipleship group, and serve alongside local churches. Our Own Operation Barnabas 2018 Leaders Max and Margaret Olmedo are from Santa Fe Springs, California and attend Norwalk Grace Brethren Church. Both Max and Margaret are teachers; Max teaches Spanish at Artesia High School and Margaret, kindergarten at Alameda Elementary. Max has lead once before with Margaret, and Margaret, three times before she was married to Max. Margaret also led City Life with her son Cesar. They have four kids (26, 23, 21, and 15) and four grandkids (6, 5, 3, and an arrival in March). Max was introduced to Christ after a pastor took his homeless family into their home and has been active in ministries ever since. He loves playing the guitar (or variations of one), playing and watching soccer, and riding around on his Can Am Spider. Margaret gave her heart to Jesus early, but it was at a BNYC (Brethren National Youth Conference) that she dedicated her life and the following summer she went on OB with TK and Ed Lewis as her leaders. She loves going to Disneyland with her daughter and grandkids, watching British dramas and mysteries, and watching endless swim meets, football games and water polo matches. Max and Maggie met at Bellflower Brethren in the Spanish ministry while leading worship. They both love investing time in young people and are excited to lead again this summer in their neck of the woods.

6 Operation Barnabas Ministry/Mailing Itinerary 2018 as of June 6, 2018 The locations listed below are the places where the OB team members are currently scheduled to be ministering on the dates listed. Addresses listed with are the locations for that tour where mail for that team member can be sent. Make sure you specify the person s name on the mail in the top line of the address and that he/she is on OB; ex. John Smith Operation Barnabas. (letters and cards only no packages please!) Please plan ahead and allow sufficient time for your letter to arrive for example, if you want your letter to be received on June 29, you should have it in the mail by June 22 allow at least one week to avoid disappointment Operation Barnabas and host churches are not responsible for undelivered mail. If you or other friends/family are planning to visit a team or student, please limit visits to no more than one per tour and a Sunday morning ministry location. Please contact the ministry site ahead of time to confirm time of the service.
