This week, our midweek Bible studies will be taking a break due to flocks. single life retreat. Mark your calendars! The Single Life annual retreat will be taking place March at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center. This year s guest speaker will be Pastor Alton To from San Francisco Bible Church. LKC, our midweek Bible study for children 4 years old and older, meets on Thursdays from 6:30-8pm. This year s theme is Word Warriors and will be focusing on Scripture memorization! In order to provide our children an opportunity to hear God s Word in a way that is particularly geared towards them, the children will be dismissed to Sunday School classes after the singing time during this morning s worship service. 3 ministry opportunities czech republic summer mission. If you would like to participate in this year s trip to the Czech Republic, please contact Pastor Patrick for an application. The tentative dates for the trip are June 30-July 21. You must have been a member at Lighthouse for at least one year to apply. Contact Pastor Patrick for more information. babysitting ministry. As part of our Care Ministry, we provide complimentary babysitting for our members. If you need a babysitter or would like more details, please contact Stephanie McAdams (stephanie@mcdoulos.net). children s outreach in national city. LBC partners with South Bay Community Church in National City to host a children s program that includes tutoring, Bible teaching, and games for the children in the neighborhood. Our Peacemaker Club meets on Mondays from 5-7pm. God has been gracious and more children have been coming this year, so we would be thankful for more helpers, especially during out tutoring time (5-6pm). The convalescent home ministry is an evangelistic outreach to the elderly and disabled that meets on Tuesday nights at 6:45pm at Mission Hills Health Care Center in Hillcrest. LBC partners with Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church every Sunday from 3-6:30pm to help feed the homeless and needy. We help prepare and serve the food, and clean the kitchen. 5 sunday school classes sunday school. Our Adult Sunday School classes continue today, during the second hour. These classes are provided to help equip the saints and promote godliness and greater understanding of God s truth. Sunday School is also a great way to spend time with fellow church members and develop relationships. The classes that are offered this term are. Fundamentals of the Faith (Instructors: Ryan Short and Min Kim; Room 107) FOF is a thirteen week class that will help you develop a basic understanding of Christian faith and practice. The class covers essential topics including how to know the Bible, the Person and work of Jesus Christ, prayer and the believer, and God s will and guidance. FOF is a required class for membership at LBC. See the church website for more information ( Introduction to Church History (Instructor: Stephen Rodgers; Sanctuary Left-side) Introduction to Church History is a thirteen week overview that will cover the major events, people, and doctrines of the last 2,400 years. The class will begin in the Patristic Age, progress to the Middle Ages, and conclude in the Modern Age. If you don t know the difference between the Black Dwarf, the Black Stone, the Black Death, and the Black Prince...come and find out! Hermeneutics (Instructor: Roger Alcaraz; Sanctuary Right-side) Have you ever read the Bible and wondered What on earth does that mean? Come and learn the principles needed to study the Bible effectively so that you can come to the correct interpretation on even the toughest passages. While it s not enough just to know God s word, a right application starts witha right understanding.

Pray for our leaders that they would gain wisdom to lead and humbly serve God through their responsibilities at the church. Pray that our pastor would continually faithfully preach the Word of God. Pray for Josh Liu, our seminary student, as he commutes up and down to school each week. Pray for the college ministry that the students would serve as a bright shining testimony to the campuses around San Diego. Pray that they would be diligent in their studies and in their walks with God. Pray for the single adults ministry that they would continue to shine the light of Christ in the workplace and make the most of every opportunity to represent Christ. Pray for the LBC Grace Life family ministry. Pray that God would build strong spiritual marriages and use our parents to raise up the next generation in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Pray for the youth and children. Pray that their lives would be guided by the principles of God s Word and that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
