He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church*, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *When we say holy catholic church, we aren t referring to the Roman Catholic Church, but instead to the true Christian church that exists all over the world in every tongue, tribe, and nation. Benevolence Offering In association with the service of the Lord's Supper, we will receive a Benevolence offering at the end of today s worship service. This will be for the sole purpose of giving relief to persons in financial crisis. The fund will be handled by the deacons. A deacon will stand at each door and if you are desiring to respond to the Lord's Supper with an offering, you will simply drop yours in the plate. 6 Announcements ELDER & DEACON NOMINATIONS We will be holding Leadership Elections for both Elders and Deacons in May of During the month of December, we will be accepting nominations for both leadership roles. Please prayerfully consider nominating a man from our congregation that you feel will satisfy the requirements of this leadership role and who will be willing to serve our church body. Nomination forms are available in the back of the sanctuary. The nomination forms can be turned into the Faith Promise Box, the offering plate, or returned to the church office. All nomination forms must be returned by December 31, Community Group Leader s Luncheon Today (Dec. 2 nd ) All community group leaders will have a luncheon after church today, Sunday, Dec. 2nd, in the fellowship hall, for the purposes of fellowship, prayer, debriefing the fall community group session, and preparing for the start of February s session. Day Of Giving (Dec. 8 th ) In partnership with West Stanly Christian Ministries and other local churches, Carolina will be participating in a Day of Giving on Saturday, Dec. 8th. Please consider picking an ornament off of the tree at the back of the sanctuary and providing a gift to a needy child in our community this Christmas season. It is requested that gifts be of $25-$35 value, for babies-14 years old. Gifts should be returned unwrapped and placed under the tree no later than Sunday, Dec. 2nd.
