Charity yields high returns. 2 Don t hoard your goods; spread them around. Be a blessing to others. This could be your last night. 3-4 When the clouds are full of water, it rains. When the wind blows down a tree, it lies where it falls. Don t sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life. 5 Just as you ll never understand the mystery of life forming in a pregnant woman, So you ll never understand the mystery at work in all that God does. 6 Go to work in the morning and stick to it until evening without watching the clock. You never know from moment to moment how your work will turn out in the end. 7-8 Oh, how sweet the light of day, And how wonderful to live in the sunshine! Even if you live a long time, don t take a single day for granted. Ecclesiastes 11:1-8, The Message In this season of twenty-four-hour news of violence, ism s, death, lies and social media, there is a joy in knowing that there is still the power of the Son to shine on a cloudy day. First Lady Barbara Bush, has passed on to the church triumph. Amid the news coverage on Mrs. Bush, it is refreshing to reflect on her love of family and community. Meditating on this Ecclesiastes scripture, we hear the voice of the Enforcer. Can you not hear Mrs. Bush sharing with her family, Don t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life. Goodness, she sounds like our Mom, Grandmother or Auntie and that form of wisdom bonds a family and in my humble opinion brings glory to God. The manifestation of love is a beacon of light in the Lighthouse. The light of Mrs. Bush continues to shine on literacy, on humanity being a blessing to others and to be honest in love with each other. There is such a value in truth and working in the vineyard for Christ. Grateful for the testimony of Mrs. Barbara Bush. Yes, there are dark clouds looming above, when we listen to the twenty-four-hour news cycle, but God, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit reminds us that the Son shines on a Cloudy Day. Thankful for the light that touches each one of us on a daily basis. And how wonderful to live in the sunshine! Even if you live a long time, don t take a single day for granted. Amen Pastor B

They are available for campers who need financial support to attend camp. We typically provide a $150 campership for our week-long, overnight programs, and $50 for mini-camp.
