1 Shir Hakavod - Hymn of Glory attributed to Rabbi Yehudah he-hasid of Regensburg, d א נ ע ים ז מ ירוֹת ו שׁ י רים א א רוֹג An-im ze-mi-rot ve-shi-rim e-e-rog I will compose melodies and songs I will weave כּ י א ל י ך נ פ שׁ י ת ע רוֹג. ki e-lei -cha naf-shi ta-a-rog. because to You soul my (she) will yearn for, long for Naf-shi cham-dah be-tsel ya-de -cha, soul my desired in shadow (of) hand Your la-da -at kol roz so-de -cha. to know every mystery (of) secret Your. 2 ע ל כּ ן א דבּ ר בּ ך נ כ בּ דוֹת, Al ken a-da-ber be-cha nich-ba-dot, therefore I will speak with You words of praise, glorious things ו שׁ מ ך א כ בּ ד בּ שׁ י רי י דידוֹת. ve-shim-cha a-cha-bed be-shi-rei ye-di-dot. and name Your I will honor with songs of friendship/love. א ס פּ רה כ בוֹ ד ך ו לא רא ית י ך. A-sap-rah che-vod-cha ve-lo re-i-ti -cha. I will tell honor/glory Your and not I have seen You. א דמּ ך א כ נּ ך ו לא י דע תּ י ך A-dam-cha a-cha-ne-cha ve-lo ye-da-e-ti -cha. 4 ו יּ ח ז ב ך ז קנ ה ב ח ר ת, va-ye-che-zu be-cha zik-nah u-va-cha-rut, and they imagined in You old age and youth, ש ע ר ראשׁ ך בּש יב ה ו שׁ ח ר ת. u-se-ar rosh-cha be-sei-vah ve-sha-cha-rut and hair of head Your as gray haired and black haired ז קנ ה בּ יוֹם ד ין ב ח ר ת בּ יוֹם ק רב, Zik-nah be-yom din u-va-cha-rut be-yom ke-rav old age in day of judgment and youth in day of battle כּ א ישׁ מ ל ח מוֹת י דיו לוֹ רב. 5 Ta-le-lei o-rot ro-sho nim-la covered with a dew of light head His is filled ט ל ל י אוֹרוֹת ראשׁוֹ נ מ ל א, קו צּוֹת יו רס יס י ל י ל ה. ke-vu-tzo-tav re-si-sei lai -lah. curls, locks of hair His (are) sprinkles of rain of night. י ת פּ א ר בּ י כּ י ח פ ץ בּ י, Yit-pa-er bi ki cha-fetz bi, He will glory in me because He delights, takes pleasure in me ו ה א י ה י ה לּ י ל ע ט רת צ ב י. ve-hu yi-he-yeh li la-a-te -ret tze-vi. and He will be to me for a crown (of) beauty, glory כּ ת ם ט הוֹר פּ ז ד מ ת ראשׁוֹ, Ke -tem ta-hor paz de-mut ro-sho, gold pure pure gold, (is) image of head His refined gold ו ח ק ע ל מ צ ח כּ בוֹד שׁ ם ק דשׁוֹ. ve-chak al me -tzach ke-vod shem kod-sho. and engraved upon brow, forehead stately (is) name holy His 1998 Siddur Sim Shalom, p.185

6 Le-chen u-le-cha-vod tze-vi tif-a-rah, for favor and for honor glory splendor u-ma-to lo i-te-rah a-ta-rah. Truth (f.) His for Him she crowned a crown. ל ח ן ל כ בוֹד צ ב י ת פ א רה, א מּ תוֹ לוֹ ע טּ רה ע ט רה. מ ח ל פוֹת ראשׁוֹ כּ ב ימ י ב ח רוֹת, Mach-le-fot ro-sho ke-vi-mei ve-chu-rot, hairs of head His (are) like in days of youth ke-vu-tzo-tav tal-ta-lim she-cho-rot. locks of hair His (are) curls black קו צּוֹת יו תּ ל תּ לּ ים שׁ חוֹרוֹת. נ ו ה ה צ דק צ ב י ת פ א רתּוֹ, Ne-veh ha-tze -dek tze-vi tif-ar-to, dwelling place of the righteous One (is) glory of splendor His י ע ל ה נּ א ע ל ראשׁ ש מ ח תוֹ. ya-a-leh na al rosh sim-cha-to. 8 צ ח ו א דוֹם ל ל ב שׁוֹ א דוֹם, tzach ve-a-dom li l-vu-sho a-dom dazzling, bright and red for garment His red פּ רה בּ ד רכוֹ בּ בוֹאוֹ מ א דוֹם. pu-rah be-dar-cho be-vo-o me-e-dom a wine press in way His in coming His from Edom ק שׁ ר תּ פ לּ ין ה רא ה ל ע נ ו ke -sher te-fi-lin her-ah le-a-nav a knot of tefillin he showed to humble one This alludes to Moshe being shown G-d s back, where the tefillin knot would be on the back of the head. תּ מ נ ת יי ל נ ג ד ע ינ יו. te-mu-nat Adonai le-ne -ged ei-nav likeness, image of Adonai in front of eyes his (Moshe) רוֹצ ה ב ע מּוֹ ע נ ו ים י פ א ר, ro-tzeh ve-a-mo a-na-vim ye-fa-er He desires (in) people His the humble He will glorify yo-shev te-hi-lot bam le-hit-pa-er.
