7 We can't stop the bloodshed. We CAN stop the bleeding. Each day the news from Israel is more frightening. Random, brutal acts of terrorism many of them in and around Jerusalem have affected more than 80 men, women and children in the last two weeks. They have been struck down on buses, near shopping malls, in synagogues, and walking down the street. We can't stop the bloodshed, but at Hadassah's hospitals we can stop the bleeding. We are international leaders in emergency, trauma and terror medicine. In recent days many victims have come through our doors. Some are lightly wounded, like the elderly woman stabbed in the shoulder on a bus. Many are more severely hurt, and need immediate surgery and critical care. One of the bus passengers arrived by ambulance with a knife in his bladder and severe wounds in his skull and liver. It is not clear whether or not he will survive. We are proud, and grateful, that Hadassah s 330,000 women and men, representing the largest Zionist organization in the US, are able to play a critical role at this time. Stand with us as we stand with Israel. Support us as we support the people of Israel. Letter Sent to Prime Minister Netanyahu October 13, 2015 Dear Mr. Prime Minister: From the War of Independence to the Six Day and Yom Kippur Wars, to the Gulf War and all the intifadas, threats and massacres in between, the women of Hadassah have stood with Israel. We stand with you now. I speak for the 330,000 women, men and supporters around the world in expressing our concern on the recent wave of attacks on Israel s citizens. Through all these horrific events, we, Hadassah, knew we could not stop the bloodshed, but are so grateful to have been able, so often, to stop the bleeding. Mr. Prime Minister, we are proud that Hadassah Hospitals are international leaders in emergency, trauma and terror medicine. Although, it is our hope and prayer that the need for these services will diminish, we continue our commitment to the people of Jerusalem and Israel. That any victim brought through our doors, will receive the finest, most sophisticated and empathetic medical care in the world. Many of us will be delegates to the World Zionist Congress next week. We look forward to hearing your keynote address and to the opportunity to express our support to you personally. You can count on us. Sincerely, Marcie Natan President
