Faithful, regular Sunday attendance at St. Paul s. Working, praying and giving for spread of the Kingdom. Support our church by financial pledging. Attend monthly vestry meetings. Chair one of the committees of the church (Outreach, Christian Education, Building & Grounds, Finance, Evangelism, Parish Life, Worship, Youth, Pastoral Care). Meet on monthly basis with your committee. On Monday he moved into the Rectory, and is getting settled. After a busy week with a Vestry meeting and a Wedding, he will celebrate Rite I and II this Sunday, October 27th. We invite you to join us immediately after the 11:00 service for a reception in the parish hall. Come worship the Risen Lord and meet Fr. Jim. Blessings Earl Willis Senior Warden EYC EYC had a wonderful time this past weekend camping at Merchant s Mill Pond. After setting up our tents we went canoeing, played football and soccer, went fishing, roasted marshmallows for smores and had a late night devotion. We woke Sunday morning to the sun shining, birds singing and had church in the woods! We talked about the Gospel lesson from Luke 18 on the importance of praying always and to not lose heart. It is easy to quit when things get tough, but Jesus reminds us to not give up. He hears all our prayers and is with us at all times. I m so thankful for Sean Tunney who organized our trip and to Andrew Bergeron, Julien Mordecai and Clay Willis who chaperoned. 4 Let us tell the world about this How lovely is Your tabernacle, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they will still be praising You. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on a pilgrimage, as they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; the rain covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion. Psalm 84:1-2, 4-7 The above verses were written, it is believed, by friends of David. How excited they were over their place of worship! They tell us their souls long to go the courts of the LORD. In verse five they write about the effort they are willing to make: they go though the valley of Baca a place of weeping and seek God. In the journey to the LORD they go from strength to strength and then each one appears before God! Are we on a pilgrimage toward God? If not let us remember: A journey begins with a single step Let s take it! Or if we re on the road let s keep going - one step at the time! The psalm ends with these words: No good thing will He (the LORD) withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You! 5 Calling all Angels in the Kitchen. Come on and Cook! Monday Oct 28th with 2 time periods to fit your busy schedule and 1-3:00 Come to one or both!! Bring your apron and your favorite work knife. We'll be restocking the freezer and working on casseroles for the Food Fair. So we'll need ALL of our angels and angels wanna be. FOOD FAIR - FOOD FAIR - FOOD FAIR MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2013, 5:00 PM TO 7:00 PM Our Annual Food Fair is coming up and we will need everyone's help and participation. Please note the new time above. (My apologies for announcing the time incorrectly at our last meeting!) We are inviting our parish and the community to shop together and at the same time. Please plan to bring your usual favorite desserts and your usual wonderful speciality items, like breads, cheese straws, meat loaf, etc. In addition, we will be having a cook day (or two) to make various other casseroles to ensure we have a sufficient plenty of these popular items.
