God the Holy Spirit is emphasized this season. We are targeting about 2,000 to 3,000 Christians from various denominations to participate in the 2 full days of the conference. 13 CHRISTIAN OUTREACH & SOCIAL CONCERNS 11. RECRUITMENT FOR VOLUNTEER TUTORS & COORDINATORS FOR TUITION PROGRAM 2018 The Christian Outreach and Social Concerns (COSC) Ministry is thankful for the volunteer tutors who have responded to the call to provide free academic coaching for students in the Pre-School, Primary and Secondary levels in The COSC plans to continue building a sustainable Tuition Program in the following areas: a) A Language & Literacy program targeted at Pre-School children b) An Academic Coaching program for Primary School students focusing on Math and English c) An Academic Coaching program for Secondary School students focusing on Math and English d) A self-sustaining volunteer-run tuition program. We appeal for volunteers to come forward to partner with us and support these needy students within our Ang Mo Kio community. The program schedule is as follows: Pre-School and Primary Level sessions will be held on Saturdays from 10.00am to 12.00pm Secondary Level Sessions will be on either Wednesdays or Thursdays from 8.00pm to 9.30pm Sessions will be held at our church premises during school terms. More than 60 students are currently in the program for Volunteer tutors will need to commit to serve in any of the following, for at least 6 months: Teaching of Language and Reading, or Teaching of English or Math - Primary level or Teaching of English or Math - Secondary level or In addition, we are also appealing for coordinators who will assist us in the following: Performing logistic and administrative tasks to support the tuition program Renewal for volunteer Tutors & Coordinators shall thereafter be every six months. > Interested volunteers can sign up by completing the registration information counter. > For more details, please contact PTM Tan Quee or or Ms Agnes

14 FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY 12. A Family Bonding Event - Start Planting! Join us for a family bonding activity with a Terrarium Workshop! Just as we need a strong foundation in Jesus Christ, plants need a good foundation of soil to start their growth. Let s get back to basics, get our hands dirty and start planting! Event: Terrarium Workshop Venue: Amstutz Hall, Level 3 AMK Methodist Church Date: Saturday, 14 July 2018 Time: 2pm to 4.30 pm Subsided fee: $35 per pair Examples include a pair of siblings, or a parent/grandparent and child (above 6 years old recommended). FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY: Crown Biblical Financial Study Family Life Ministry will be running the Crown Biblical Financial Course presented by Men s Fellowship. The Study runs for 10 weekly sessions starting 27 June 2018, where participants will learn biblical principles touching on right values about money & possessions, learn guidance concerning their spending, investing and even work conduct in the workplace all leading to lives drawn closer to God. Its practical focus will help to break worldly bondages and enable participants to truly experience God s freedom & abundant blessings. Course will be limited to 30 attendees only. 15 AMKMC 40th ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE 14. BLESS We are on the intentional journey of BLESS (20 May to 9 Sep 2018) Who Can I BLESS Today? B= BEGIN WITH A PRAYER Write a list of people that you could BLESS (Page 6 & 7 of BLESS journal) Begin praying to our Lord for wisdom how to BLESS these persons. As you commune with God, be sensitive and still and listen to what He may be saying to you. God speaks to us not necessary with a loud voice or claps, through a loud microphone but very often with a small still voice that resonates with our inner person. He also does so by circumstances, everyday encounters and through others in our daily life. Journal it (Pages 9 to 11 of BLESS Journal). You will be surprised by the gems of wisdom God has given to you. A BLESS billboard has been specially installed outside our sanctuary. Don t wait, encourage someone with your testimony. Pick up a testimony sticker available at the information counter. Pen your encouragement and stick it on the billboard for all to see. Thank you for being a blessing! 15

16 AMKMC 40th ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE 15. AMKMC 40th Anniversary 2018: Virtual Choir Project Join us and be a part of this momentous occasion! AMKMC will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary this year - 40 years of God s faithfulness. As part of the celebration, we invite you to send in recordings of yourself singing the song Many Gifts, One Spirit, then we will blend your videos together to create a virtual choir. Who is invited? Everyone who attends AMKMC s services. Do help us to invite your AMKMC friends to participate! I cannot sing, how else can I participate? Don t be shy! If you prefer not to record alone, you can also record yourselves singing together as a group. How do I participate? Watch our instruction videos and learn the song on your own time. Once ready, record yourself singing together with the instruction video. This can be any time or place, preferably a room with little to no background noise. 17 PRAYER MINISTRY 17. A CALL TO AN Extended Prayer and InterCession - E.P.I.C is a special year. It is the 40th anniversary of our church. It is also the 40th year of Billy Graham s prophecy about Singapore being the Antioch of Asia. We are responding to a conviction that God is leading us to come together as a church for extended time of prayer and intercession to pray for ourselves, our church, Singapore and the world.
