It begins on the last Sunday in August and is the last season of the Christian calendar. The emphasis of this season is Christ the King Eternal. It is a season in which we affirm that all we do in our life comes under the kingship of the Triune God. The colour of Kingdomtide is GREEN, the colour of growth and spring. OUR GUEST SPEAKER FOR MISSIONS SUNDAY, REV TERESA WILBORN We warmly welcome our guest speaker, Rev Teresa Wilborn, to our pulpit and thank her for sharing God s Word with us today. Rev Teresa Wilborn is a Diaconal Minister from Aldersgate Methodist Church. She has served with the Methodist Missions Society (MMS) since She has supported missions in Cambodia and Vietnam, and is currently Area Director for Timor-Leste and Laos. Prior to being called into ministry, Teresa was Director of Operations for AT&T Asia Pacific. She and her husband have called Singapore their home for the past 17 years. 2. CAR PARKING Land Transport Authority (LTA) has notified us that permission to park along Street 21 between Lamp Post 3 and 4 on Sundays will be withdrawn effective 19 August Car park lots are available in the multi-storey car park at Block 260 and in the vicinity of our church. Please refrain from parking in residential (red lots) in the multi-storey car park and indiscriminately along Street 21. Please remember to use carpark coupons when parking. 10 8. PRAYER & SELF DENIAL (PSD) CLOSING SERVICE TRAC WSCS will hold its Prayer & Self Denial (PSD) closing service on Saturday, 16 September 2017 at 2pm, Sophia Blackmore Hall at Barker Road. Ladies are strongly encouraged to attend this service which would meaningfully cap a week of PSD observance from 10 Sep. Dean Ong Guek Ju from Tung Ling Bible School will speak on Ephesians 4:1-6 Walk Worthy of Your Calling. The service will end by 4.30pm with a tea reception and fellowship among ladies from sister Methodist churches. Please register at Info Counter after services for catering purposes. Registration closes today! 9. INTRODUCTION OF FELLOWSHIP TIME FOR HUB SERVICE Starting today, we invite the congregation at the AMK Hub 10.30am Service for a time of fellowship after service! It will be held on the 4th Sunday of each month, at the Cathay F&B area (located at the top of the escalator as you are coming towards Hall 5). The fellowship time will start immediately after service ends until 12.30pm, and light refreshments will be served. We invite those attending service at Hub to come and to get to know one another better, and to find out more about the church. Everyone is welcome! 11 10. NATIONAL DAY AWARDS The Methodist Message publishes Methodist National Day Awards recipients each year in its October issue. Each church is requested to provide a list of its own members who have been so honoured. If you know of any members who are recipients of the National Day Awards, please our Administration Executive, Mr Lawrence Wong at lawrencewong@amkmc.org.sg no later than 31 August FAMILY LIFE > THE PARENTING TEENAGERS COURSE BY RELATIONSHIP CENTRAL (PARENTS OF TEENAGERS BETWEEN YEARS OLD) We parents are the main influence on our teenagers future. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference. Meeting our teenagers deepest needs, setting healthy boundaries, helping to develop their emotional health and teaching them how to make good choices takes skill and dedication. Taking time to reflect on our end goal can help us to build our relationship with our teenagers now. 12 12. WSCS > WELLNESS TALK Preventive medicine is in! WSCS has invited the Ings to share on The Key to Ageing & Living Without Disease. The talk comprises a 1.5 hours of presentation and ½ hour for Q&A. Learn how to live disease-free for a longer time. The speakers will share health nuggets from their experience in restoring many to health and to continue to live well without relapse. The talk will also motivate you to form life-giving habits and adopt these principles as a way of life. Dr Clarence Ing and May Ing hail from the USA, with medical qualifications from Loma Linda University. He is a Medical Doctor, Eye Surgeon and specialist in Preventive Medicine. She is a Masters of Public Health in Nutrition and is a Registered Dietician Nutritionist. They are Christians and are sought-after speakers who have made time for the talk as they are passing through Singapore. Date : Saturday, 16 September 2017 Venue : Amstutz Hall (Level 3) Time : 8 10pm Fee : Free for WSCS members and $5 for non-members. Light refreshments will be served. CHRISTALITE METHODIST HOME (CMH) VISITATION The Christian Outreach & Social Concerns (COSC) Ministry is organising a visit to Christalite Methodist Home to bring joy and God s love to the residents.
