ROGER MENSAJES DE PADRE ROGER On behalf of the Staff and Parish Council and all those who minister here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, I would like to wish all of the parishioners, their families and loved ones, a very blessed and joyful Easter. Remember that, in our Catholic Tradition, Easter Is not just one day but actually Easter is celebrated for many weeks. The Easter Season will continue until Sunday, June 4 th when we celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost. Use these days, especially the weekend Liturgies, to remember the life-giving sacrifice and extraordinary example of Jesus for each one of us. Our parish community and the RCIA Team would like to welcome the newest members of the Church who were baptized and received into the Church during the solemn, beautiful and moving Triduum Services. As you take your place among us, you inspire us that God truly does call people to conversion and to the spiritual life ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL Their Eyes Were Opened and They Recognized Him The 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal will be conducted in our parish this weekend. Once a year, our Bishop asks each of us to make a commitment to support the work of diocesan programs and ministries that provide services that no one parish can offer on its own. Your gift helps bring Christ to those who seek His presence - the poor, the sick, the distressed, our children and our elderly. As parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we are proud to be part of the Church of Wilmington. As members of the diocese, it is important for each of us to serve others by sharing our resources. Just as we are one in the body of Christ, we are also one with other parishes and with our diocese. Our parish target is $118,000. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ~ The Knights of Columbus are hosting a Baby Shower on Tuesday, April 25 th at 7 PM in the Church Hall. Items donated for the Baby Shower are given to Bayard House, a non-denominational home operated by the Diocese of Wilmington that supports single mothers who have chosen life over abortion. For several years we have collected items for Bayard House. Any donations of diapers, baby wipes, new clothing, baby bottles, etc. are greatly appreciated. Items can either be brought to the Baby Shower or placed in the box in the Gathering Space. The Knights greatly appreciate your support and so will the young moms at Bayard House. Each Den worked on their own outdoor requirements and then the group came together in the evening for dinner and s mores by the campfire. In addition to the individual requirements, the Cub Scouts also learned how to select a good campsite and set up a tent. The boys had a great time and are looking forward to their next campout in May with the Troop. THE PRODIGAL SON-On Thursday, May 4 th the newly formed AFC Discussion Group will meet after the Mass in the Dining Room. Our first topic for discussion and presentation will be the Prodigal Son. If you are age 50 or more and haven t joined yet, come to one of our meetings/activities/events and give it a try! THE POWER OF DREAMS: A Christian Guide is a book written by Fr. Gerard Condon. It is a practical handbook on how to remember and interpret our dreams and discern their spiritual dimension. How can dreams be spiritual? Because by growing in awareness of the hidden depths within, we can be more authentically present in our relationships with God. In a four-week process, practiced in a small group, we will discuss the science, psychology, theology and spirituality of dreaming. And each week two people will present dreams for interpretation. Spiritual director, Anita Wood, will facilitate each of the four sessions, which will be held on Fridays, May 19 and 26, June 2 and 9, from 9:30 to 11am in the chapel. There will also be a half-hour introductory meeting on Friday May 12 at 9:30 to pick up the book and go over the procedure the group will use. Why do something like this now? Because as we hear in the Easter/Pentecost season, both young and old, by the power of God s Spirit will dream dreams, dreams that have revelatory power.
