ROGER MENSAJES DE PADRE ROGER On behalf of the Staff and Parish Council and all those who minister here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, I would like to wish all of the parishioners, their families and loved ones, a very blessed and joyful Easter. Remember that, in our Catholic Tradition, Easter Is not just one day but actually Easter is celebrated for many weeks. The Easter Season will continue until Sunday, June 4 th when we celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost. Use these days, especially the weekend Liturgies, to remember the life-giving sacrifice and extraordinary example of Jesus for each one of us. Our parish community and the RCIA Team would like to welcome the newest members of the Church who were baptized and received into the Church during the solemn, beautiful and moving Triduum Services. As you take your place among us, you inspire us that God truly does call people to conversion and to the spiritual life. DID YOU KNOW? All dioceses and eparchies have Victim Assistance Coordinators, assuring that victims of abuse will be heard. In 2016, dioceses and eparchies provided outreach and support to 250 victims/survivors and their families who came forward to report abuse. Continued support was also provided to 1,510 victims/survivors and their families who reported abuse in prior years ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL Their Eyes Were Opened and They Recognized Him In the Resurrection of Jesus we find hope in the prospect of everlasting life in heaven. But to obtain eternal life, we must accept the Lord s invitation to follow Him by imitating His love and compassion for others. During the weekend of April 22 & 23, our parish will participate in the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal a campaign conducted each year throughout the Diocese of Wilmington. Funds generated through the Appeal help provide critical financial support to nearly forty pastoral, charitable and educational programs and ministries. As Christian stewards we are called to a lifelong conversion to the ways of Jesus. Each of us is asked to examine the blessings we have received from God and to discern how best to use them for others. We do this cheerfully and sacrificially and with faith in God s love for us, knowing that He will provide for our earthly wants. Gerard Condon. It is a practical handbook on how to remember and interpret our dreams and discern their spiritual dimension. How can dreams be spiritual? Because by growing in awareness of the hidden depths within, we can be more authentically present in our relationships with God. In a four-week process, practiced in a small group, we will discuss the science, psychology, theology and spirituality of dreaming. And each week two people will present dreams for interpretation. Spiritual director, Anita Wood, will facilitate each of the four sessions, which will be held on Fridays, May 19 and 26, June 2 and 9, from 9:30 to 11am in the chapel. There will also be a half-hour introductory meeting on Friday May 12 at 9:30 to pick up the book and go over the procedure the group will use. Why do something like this now? Because as we hear in the Easter/Pentecost season, both young and old, by the power of God s Spirit will dream dreams, dreams that have revelatory power.
