If you have ever been here for one of these services you know I am serious! There is something extraordinary about seeing the spiritual formation of our children on display as they offer leadership for every aspect of our worship. Several words come to mind as I watch the children pray, sing, usher, and preach. Words like, innocence, purity, faith, seriousness, and joy easily come to my mind. Each year's service begins several weeks in advance when Krissy Walker asks our children to identify the part of worship they would like to lead. Another way she puts the question, "Who do you want to be on Sunday?" In other words, which person do you see offering leadership or hospitality on Sunday whose place you would like to take?

2 One child decided she wants to be an usher this year. The usher is one of the first people she sees each week as she enters the sanctuary. The hospitality the usher offers each week has made an impression on this child. Last Sunday, this child enthusiastically told Larry Gray that, "I am going "to be you" on Sunday." She continued, "I've already got my tootsie rolls ready to give out--just like you!" Every child offering leadership on Sunday has made their choice based on what they see lived out before them each week in worship. They will not be "playing" church. They will leading the church in the high act of worship and praise of God. Their witness will touch every one who attends in the deep places of heart and soul. This is not a new phenomenon. Jesus knew the powerful example of children. Often he put a child in the middle of a group of adults and pointed to the child as a model of pure, innocent faith. As we engage in worship this week, may each of us come looking for God at work in the lives of these children. May we see God's lesson intended for us as we receive their witness. I guarantee you will be encouraged and blessed beyond words! The JOY Choir

4 The whole congregation extends its heartfelt appreciation to Diana Gray for her six years of service as our Office Manager. Diana has come to know our congregation and ministries very well. She has helped so many people within our church and from the community. Diana is retiring at the end of this month and we all wish her a very blessed and happy retirement. A nursery will not be provided. Youth Bible study ending for year We have had a dedicated group of youth for morning prayer breakfast and Bible study each week. This week was the last Wednesday for these activities for the school year.

6 Thanks to the adults who have worked with our students during the year: Amanda and Kyle Barfield, Tyler Moreland, Kaki Heath, and Josh Jenkins. Please pray for each of our youth as they turn their attention to finishing the academic year well. They only have a couple of weeks remaining.
