My sisters and brothers, let us rejoice: Alleluia! P: Alleluia, Jesus is Lord of all the earth; He is the King of creation! L: On this most holy of days, the One whom people thought to destroy has risen triumphant from the tomb. My sisters and brothers, let us rejoice: Alleluia! P: Alleluia, Jesus has died and is risen! L: On this holy day, we celebrate our new life in the risen Christ; through the death of Jesus, the weight of our sin has been lifted from us; through His glorious resurrection, we have become sons and daughters of God. My sisters and brothers, let us rejoice: Alleluia! P: Alleluia, come, let us praise the living God! Amen. SPECIAL MUSIC An Easter Celebration Craig Courtney When led, the congregation will please rise and sing: HYMN Christ the Lord Is Risen Today No. 367 (Verses 1, 2 & 4) CONFESSION OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: L: Let us recite together the Apostle s Creed as our confession of faith: P: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe

3 in the Holy Spirit, one holy Universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. L: Let us now pray together the prayer our Lord taught us: P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. ANTHEM Crown Him With Many Crowns G. Elvey/L. Weber ROMANS 6:3-5 Don t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. Hebrews 2:14-15 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 1 Corinthians 15:55, 57 Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) **Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. Please contact an usher if you would like to use one of these. 3
