1 CONCORDIA S PURPOSE To Make the Love of Jesus R.E.A.L. in the Lives of All People EASTER SUNDAY RESURECTION OF OUR LORD April 5, :15 and 10:45 a.m. AS WE GATHER (Prepared by Jim Gann) Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! You know, many Christians forget that we are invited to have, yes, even enjoy a personal relationship with our Savior, our Redeemer. As Samuel Medley points out in his great hymn, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, Jesus Christ is our personal Redeemer. It is through that intimate Father and Child relationship that we learn that He will silence our fears, bless us with His love, feed our hungry souls, and so on. P: And the joy of Christ s resurrection renews our lives even now. C: We are all new creations with a new beginning! P: Alleluia! Christ is risen! C: He is risen indeed! Alleluia! CONFESSION and ABSOLUTION P: On this day of great joy, let us turn to the risen Lord and confess our sin. C: We confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. P: We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. C: We have failed to live in ways that show forth the power of the resurrection. P: We have lost the zeal of the women who first proclaimed the resurrection. C: Forgive us, Lord. Turn us from our sin to live in the power and hope of the resurrection each day (Silence for reflection on God s Word and for self-examination) ABSOLUTION P: By His suffering and death our Lord has paid for our sins, and by His rising has destroyed the power of death. As a called and ordained servant of our risen and triumphant Lord Jesus Christ and by His authority I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Our Risen Lord has taken away your sins! God forgives you. You are forgiven! 2

APOSTLE'S CREED All: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

Almighty God, we give You the highest praise and thanksgiving for breaking into our world in the incarnation of Christ, His

7 atoning death, and His most glorious resurrection from the dead. We worship You and we give You thanks for Your great glory. CAN DRIVE FUNDRAISER The youth will collect all of your aluminum cans to scrap for a fundraiser to get them to New Orleans for the National Youth Gathering. Start saving them! FOOD FOR THE POOR LUTHERAN COALITION: Don t forget! We continue to collect funds to help our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua serve the poorest of the poor. About $2 per week from all our member families would mean $10,000 to help alleviate their tremendous suffering. THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS: If you are a Thrivent member and have Choice Dollars available, you can direct them to Concordia! Our plan is to continue gathering these funds to be used to support a mission start in Franklin County, PA. It is never too late to receive offering envelopes.
