Let Thy congregation escape tribulation: Thy name be ever praised; O Lord, make us free! BENEDICTION POSTLUDE Finale arr. Shelley LUKE 23:33-43 (NIV) When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, He saved others; let him save himself if he is God s Messiah, the Chosen One. The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself. There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: Aren t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us! But the other criminal rebuked him. Don t you fear God, he said, since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong. Then he said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. Please contact an usher if you would like to use one of these. 3

New members will be received next Sunday at either the 9:15 or 10:45 a.m. service. 8 CANDLELIGHT MESSIAH The Church at Litchfield Park will be presenting a Candlelight Messiah on Friday, December 16, and Saturday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The program will be the Christmas portion of Handel s Messiah, performed by the Chancel Choir, guest soloists and accompaniment. Ticket sales for the congregation are now on sale, in the church office during the week and Sunday in the breezeway, for $20. Beginning November 27, tickets will be made available to the general public. You are welcome to purchase as many tickets as you desire for family and friends, however, sales are on a first come, first served basis and must be paid for by check or cash at the time. Please be advised that seats will be sold by row. This will be your only chance to hear the Messiah, as the Christmas Cantata, on Sunday, December 18, will be a different program. CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP Caring for a loved one, though rewarding, can also be very challenging. In many cases, the family is the primary source of support for an individual who is no longer able to care for themselves alone. The responsibility is often very demanding of time, energy, health, and resources. The Caregiver Support Group will meet on Sunday, November 27, from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the South Fireside Room, Kathy Bilak (Physician Assistant specializing in Radiation Oncology) and Pastor Lynne will be hosting a support group for caregivers on the fourth Sunday of each month. The goal of the Caregiver Support Group is to teach and encourage self-care, as well as provide a forum of support and understanding from others facing similar situations. ADULT BIBLE STUDY Bible study will not be held next Tuesday, November 22 or Wednesday, November 23 because of Thanksgiving. On Tuesday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, November 30, at 6:45 p.m. in Souers Hall, we will begin a new three-week series focused on the birth of Jesus. During our journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem we will be taking an in-depth look at Mary & Joseph, Mary s visit to Elizabeth, the trip to Bethlehem, and Jesus birth. Please bring your Bible and a writing utensil if possible. 8
