An offering will be taken and given to St. Mary s Food Bank. MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION TODAY If you are considering joining our church family or simply want more information about The Church at Litchfield Park, please come to our brief membership orientation in Fireside Room South TODAY, immediately following the 9:15 service. New members will be received next Sunday at either the 9:15 or 10:45 a.m. service. If you have already been to an orientation session and would like to join or if you have any questions about the process, please contact the church office at (623) or membership@clp.church. HANGING OF THE GREENS The Hanging of the Greens will be held Sunday, November 26, immediately following the 10:45 AM service in the sanctuary. Anyone (all ages are welcome) who would like to help with the Christmas decorating is invited, no experience is necessary! This all-church event will include listening to some of our favorite Christmas music while we decorate the outside and inside of the church for the 2017 Advent and Christmas season. Once the decorating is complete, we ll gather in Souers Hall for chili and cornbread which will be provided. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite holiday dessert to share. If you would like to join in the activities, please sign up in the breezeway. 7

8 BIBLE STUDY On Tuesday, November 28, and Wednesday, November 29, Bible study resumes with a new three-week study led by Professor Terry Daughtrey. The series he is leading will consider some of the important differences between the Judaism of Torah and Second Temple Judaism, and will define those differences as presented by the post-exilic prophets. Consideration will then be given to the manner in which Jesus reestablished the true Covenant of Torah. Please bring a Bible and something to write with if possible. WEDNESDAY NIGHT CHILDREN S ACTIVITIES Wednesday night activities will resume on November 29. Enjoy the Thanksgiving Eve Service at 6:30 p.m. with the family. STEWARDSHIP What does it mean to commit to something? Why do we do it? To whom or what do we commit? What happens when we do? When we commit to the Lord whatever we do, He will establish our plans. The plans He establishes for us through our commitment will help create ministry in our 2018 budget plan. Knowing the giving intentions and plans of the congregation is vital to making the important decisions necessary for outreach and growth by our board of directors and by our staff. You probably recently received a letter and commitment card in your mail talking about the 2018 budget planning process. You will also find a commitment card in the pew pockets in the sanctuary. You may return your commitment by placing it in the offering plate or mailing it to the church office. WOMEN S FELLOWSHIP Circle 6 will host a gathering hour TODAY at 7:00 p.m. at Red s Bar and Grill at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park. Come join us! Contact Crissie at wcsfcircle6@clp.church. OFFICER NOMINATION Women s Christian Service Fellowship (W.C.S.F.) is looking for nominations for the following offices: Treasurer: Must be a church member, is a two year commitment, reconciles monthly report from church office, reports financials to WCSF board, familiar with excel and word. Vice-President: Presides in the absence of the president, chairperson for the annual Mother s Day Luncheon and Christmas Tea, is a one year commitment. Both positions require attendance to monthly meetings (summers excluded) and the ability to communicate through . 9 PULSE AND IGNITE YOUTH GROUPS Pulse (grades 9 th 12 th ) and Ignite (grades 6 th 8 th ) youth groups will meet tonight for a special Thanksgiving celebration at 5:00 6:30 p.m. in Souers Hall. All 6 th 12 th graders are welcome! YOUTH GROUPS CHILDCARE FOR SHOPPING Need something for your child or children to do while you shop for Christmas? The youth will be available to provide childcare on Saturday, December 9, from 1:00 4:00 p.m. in Souers Hall. There will be many activities for the kids to enjoy. When you return from shopping, we will even have some youth available to wrap presents! There is no charge for childcare; donations will be accepted for summer mission trips. ALL CHURCH CAROLING Come ready to sing Christmas carols the evening of Sunday, December 10. We will meet in the parking lot and load on the hay wagons at 5:00 p.m. After singing Christmas carols around Litchfield Park, we will have hot chocolate, cookies, and possibly a visit from a jolly man dressed in red! CHRISTMAS TEA All women are invited to attend the 34 th annual Women s Christian Service Fellowship (W.C.S.F.) Christmas Tea on Sunday, December 3, from 2:00 3:00 p.m. in Souers Hall. Come and enjoy entertainment sponsored by Circles 1, 4 and 5. Those whose last name begin with A-L are asked to bring finger sandwiches or savory hors d oeuvres; those whose last name begins with M-Z are asked to bring 24 small finger desserts. Please sign up in advance in the breezeway or in the church office, so that we may have adequate seating. Circle 3 is doing decorations, Circles 2 and 6 are in charge of food set up and kitchen clean up. Ticket price is $74.00 which includes bread, starter, entree, coffee/tea (hot or cold), tax, basic gratuity, and Broadway production. Make checks payable to The Church at Litchfield Park and mark theatre in the memo line. Please indicate if you wish to sit with someone at your table. A bus will be available for those interested; please indicate when you sign up. This annual dinner/show at the Arizona Broadway Theatre is Friday, February 9, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets make a wonderful gift for a special occasion. 9

10 MISSIONS CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX PROJECT Help spread the joy of God s love with children in the west valley. Please pack a shoebox, as a Christmas present, for a child in need. This year, the mission committee has decided to focus our shoebox project locally and so are partnering with Newlife Covenant Church, in Avondale, for the distribution of the boxes we prepare. You can pack gifts, school supplies, hygiene items, sweets/snacks, etc. (think Christmas stockings). Pick up your shoebox in the breezeway Sunday, November 19 or 26, after any of the three services and return it Sunday, December 10 or 17. You may also use a shoebox from home if you desire. CHRISTMAS ANGEL PROJECT This year s Christmas Angel Project will be Turkeys for Troops through the Luke Air Force Base Chapel where a full Christmas meal and a gift card will be given to Airmen and their families. If you would like to participate in the Christmas Angel Project, you will find Mission Committee members in the breezeway between services on Sundays, November 26, December 3 and 10. Any donations collected above the number of families to be given Christmas meals will be placed in the Chaplain s Discretionary Fund to assist Airmen in need. If you have any questions on the project, please contact the church office at (623) or info@clp.church. POINSETTIAS Poinsettias for the Christmas season will be on sale beginning today in the breezeway between services. This is a chance to remember a loved one, praise someone, or simply spread the spirit of Christmas with the enduring red bloom that represents a deep love for Jesus. The poinsettias will be displayed in the sanctuary and Souers Hall with the honorees names listed in the bulletin. Price is $10.00 cash or check made payable to The Church at Litchfield Park with poinsettias in the memo line. Payments must be received by Sunday, December 10.
