PRELUDE WELCOME PASTORAL PRAYER LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Yes, Lord, he said, you know that I love you. Jesus said, Feed my lambs. Again Jesus said, Simon son of John, do you truly love me? He answered, Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. Jesus said, Take care of my sheep. The third time he said to him, Simon son of John, do you love me? Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, Do you love me? He said, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said, Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go. Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, Follow me! We have claimed to be a people of the Bible but have failed to open its pages. Grant us the enthusiasm of Peter, that we may hunger and thirst after righteousness. Grant that we may not only hunger for your Word but share it with those so desperately hungering for your truth. FAITH AND FAMILY NIGHT Join the fun by attending the Diamondbacks Faith and Family Night on Friday, August 24 th, at 6:30 p.m. as they play the Padres. Following the game will be a concert with MercyMe and fireworks. There are seats in the Audi Suite at $43 plus $10 Diamondbucks or $15 for bleacher seats. Register and purchase tickets in Souers Hall; the last day to buy tickets will be Wednesday, August 1 st. 8
