3 November 20, 2016 Page 3 Our building projects My dear Parishioners: Thank you for the wonderful response to our recent parishioner survey. The results were overwhelmingly in favor of proceeding with a campaign to fund the three projects in the following priority order: New Rectory moved to back of property with additional parking near church. (Overall 95% approval) New Parish Life Center to enhance our many ministries that serve our parish and the wider community. (Overall 89% approval) Enclosing a recreational space for our young parishioners. (Overall 80% approval) As a result of the Feasibility Study, Greater Mission has recommended a campaign participation goal of 1,000 gifts and a funding goal of $2,500,000 received in pledges that can be made as a one-time gift or paid over a period as long as five years. We are required to raise 50% of the needed funds before construction can begin. St. Catherine has a remarkable history of ministry and truly faith-filled generosity. As you know, many of our facilities have served us well but are in need of major upgrades to meet the needs we face today and in the future. This is a tremendous chance for us to write a new chapter in our parish s proud history of dynamic ministry and service. Please pray for our parish, asking the Holy Spirit to fill us with his love, and inviting our patroness St. Catherine to set us on fire. I am honored to serve as your pastor. Thank you and God bless. Names of those being honored or remembered will be printed in the Christmas bulletin. Envelopes must be turned in no later than Dec. 18 to have names appear in Christmas Bulletin. From the Pastor s Desk Mary Mullin to assume position of Youth Ministry Coordinator I am happy to announce that after a lot of prayer, study and consultations, I have offered the position of Youth Ministry Coordinator at St. Catherine to our own Mary Mullin. She has kindly accepted my offer. I am sure she did so because of her love for our youth and because she has been very much invested with their formation through our Youth Ministry for nine years. I have no doubt the future of our youth ministry will be safe and bright in the hands of an experienced person like Mary Mullin. Mary has been a parishioner at St. Catherine since 1979 and has been an active member of our parish throughout the years in many different ministries. She has taught religious education, served as an Adorer, and is currently an EMHC and Reader. For the past nine years, Mary has also been volunteering her time with our Youth Ministry program. She has attended workshops and conferences to help her grow in her understanding and knowledge of youth ministry and how to effectively minister to our young church. She graduated from the University of Florida with both her Bachelor s and Master s degrees in Education and has worked for the Clay County School Board as a teacher for 28 years and is currently a staffing specialist for the district. Mary and her husband Don were married at St. Catherine and will celebrate their 30 th wedding anniversary on November 22. They are the proud parents of Matthew, his wife Christy, Brian, and Adam. The family recently welcomed their first grandchild with the birth of Olivia to Matthew and Christy. I extend my prayerful best wishes to her for all success in this new responsibility and I request all parishioners keep her in their prayers and offer her support.

You pull out coats and jackets for the cool weather that will soon arrive and you have more than you need! But there are so many people right in our area that will need a coat or jacket this winter and cannot get one. Our parish has been wonderful for at least the past 8 years in helping to collect coats that are given directly to people in our area. We have collected and shared over 5000 coats! There will be a box in the vestibule for you to drop off clean usable coats and jackets of all sizes and we will distribute them as needed. Over a million has been raised for Christians in the Middle East who are being persecuted, slaughtered, and otherwise removed from their homeland. The crosses are handmade in Bethlehem by 192 artisans in 52 workshops. Well over 100,000 have been produced. Your council, 7399, will be visible around campus and after Masses to offer the opportunity to have one of these crosses and participate in Christian Solidarity in the heart of the Holy Land and translate charity into reality. Today we give thanks to all our faithful Adorers, whose commitment and dedication to the Lord, in the Blessed Sacrament, is what makes this possible.
