3 As we move into this month of September, normal activities will begin to resume in the parish! As I have mentioned, we have a new youth minister in our parish who is also the Coordinator of Faith Formation for the middle school and the Confirmation program. Andrew has spent the past few months reworking those programs, hoping to enhance the experience for both the catechists and the students. Over the past few years, this level has been rather shaky; Andrew, however, has come to us with experience and enthusiasm and already has made some substantive changes. With that said, he has shared with me that he is still in need of some catechists for the 7 th and 8th grade level. He is committed to providing all the necessary support and materials for those who are teaching and will give hands on help. Pat Conte is also in need of a few catechists in her well run program. We all know the importance of passing our faith from one generation to another and it is the responsibility of us all. In this day when fewer and fewer young people are involved in the church, we need to make an impression on them early in their formative years. Witnessing to the faith in this way speaks volumes. Please take some time to consider sharing your faith in this way during the coming year. We already have a large number of catechists doing just that but we need more to make our programs effective. I am most grateful for their generosity and dedication. We also have need of your prayers as we begin another year. Praying for these men and women; praying for our students; and praying for our church. May God bless us all during these coming months. HUDSON, MA Fr. Ron s Ramblings Assim como estamos a caminho do mês de Setembro, se dará inicio às actividades normais aqui na paróquia. Como já havia ditto antes, temos um novo ministro de jovens na nossa paróquia que tambem é o cordenador da formação de fé das crianças da escola média e do programa do Crisma. O André tem passado o seu tempo nos ultimos meses revisando estes programas, esperando aperfeiçoar a experiência entre catequistas e alunos. Nos ultimos anos este programa tem sido um pouco imperfeito, mas o André veio até nós com expêriencia e intusiasmo e já fez algumas melhoras positivas. Com tudo o que já foi mencionado ele me disse que ainda precisa de catequistas para os graus 7 e 8. Ele está preparado para conseguir todo o material necessário e dar o seu apoio total a todos os catequistas. A Pat Conte tambem esta necessitando de alguns catequistas no seu programa. Todos nós sabemos a importância que há em passer a nossa fé de geração em geracao e é uma responsa bilidade que cabe a todos nós. Nestes dias em que são menos gente nova envolvidos na igreja, precisamos causar boa impressão nos mais novos no principio da sua formação. Dando testemunho da fé d esta forma é que dá muito valor no exemplo. Por favor considere tomar algum tempo da sua vida para compartir a sua fé pro future. Já temos um bom numero de catequistas fazendo isto mas precisamos mais para tornar os nossos programas efectivos. Estou muito agradecido pela generosidade e dedicacao deles(as). Tambem precisamos muito das vossas oracoes ao comecar-mos um novo ano. Orando por estes homens e mulheres; orando por todos os estudantes; orando pela nossa igreja. 4 Religious Education Gr K-5 Classes begin this weekend! If you still have not registered your children, please call the office, come in, and do so! We have room in some classes and we will try to accommodate all the children. If you arrive and there is a line, please be patient with us as we place your children. We pray for all the families and children in our program that they will have a prayerful and faith filled year. Thank you all for your continued support of our faith formation program. Anyone who would like to help with the program, please contact Pat at or by at pconte@stmikes.org. Religious Education Gr 6-11 We are seeking group leaders/catechists for grades 6-8. Please consider sharing your faith! Grades 6, 7, and 8 Parents meeting will be either Monday September 8 or Wednesday, September 10. You can pick which night works best for you. The meeting begins at 6pm. Grades 9 and 10 Parents meeting will be Tuesday, September 9 at 6pm. Grade 11 Parents meeting will be on Thursday, September 11 at 6pm. If you are unable to attend any of these meetings, please call Andrew Genovese at Attention All Youth Grades 7 and Up! Youth Holy Hour, Adoration, Fellowship, and Fun begins on Thursday, September 18 at 6pm. Going forward we will meet on the Second Thursday of the month in the Parish Center Chapel, 2 nd floor from rear entrance. Youth Mass will be at the 4pm Mass on the Fourth Saturday followed by pizza and fellowship in the Parish Center. This will begin on September 27. If you want a better understanding of our faith and a deeper relationship with God, please join us for A Quick Journey Through the Bible beginning Monday, September 15 in the Parish Center from 6pm-7:15pm. You will benefit personally, but also help bring about profound renewal in our parish as we all grow closer to Christ. The study will include a series of 8 half-hour videos presented by Jeff Cavins. Each video will be followed by a lively group discussion. Everyone who participates will receive a color coded Bible Timeline Chart as well as a Bible study workbook. St Michael Parish will offer A Quick Journey Through the Bible, Mondays, September 15, 22, 29, October 6, 20, 27 November 3 and 17. (Deuteronomy 6:5-6) My prayer for all parents and grandparents at St. Michael Parish is that they pray these prayers on their child s behalf be they entering elementary, high school or college. Our children are God s gift to us and it is our duty to lead them and guide them in the Lord s direction.
