Wednesday Worship: The final Wednesday Worship series for this programming year continues through May 24, with the theme Act Now: How the Church Began. Wednesdays at noon in the Sanctuary. On Wednesday May 31 we will conclude the season with a meditative service in Wood Fellowship Hall by walking a labyrinth and focusing on Scripture and sacred music. Music Sunday: The pastors, sanctuary choir and guest instrumentalists will lead a music-filled service that s become an early-summer tradition. Music Sunday: Voices of Faith on June 4 will include reflections from theologians from Anselm to Anne Lamott, woven together with music in a variety of styles and genres. care We aim to provide support, prayer, love and acts of compassion as we seek to draw closer to one another in community. Food Truck Lunch: Dress casually and bring a blanket or camp chair for sitting on the lawn on Sunday, June 4, a Food Truck Lunch, immediately following worship. Trucks scheduled to attend are Maki Taco, Lobster Dogs, Ruthie s Rolling Café, Sticks & Cones and Ashten s Treats and Eats. The afternoon will also include games on the lawn and the opportunity for fellowship. learn Through study at every age and stage, we aim to become more Christlike and deepen our relationship with our Lord. Formation Leader Appreciation Sunday: Teachers and leaders will be recognized during worship on May 21; refreshments will be offered on the lawn following worship. 13th Movie Screening and Discussion: On Wednesday, May 31, First Presbyterian Church will show the documentary 13th. The screening will be in Wood Fellowship Hall from 6-8 p.m., which includes time for discussion following the film. Lakewood Preschool Work Day: Your help is needed on Saturday, May 20, for a work day at one of our community partners, Lakewood Preschool, 3115 Kalynne Street. Show up any time from 8 a.m. to noon, as you are able, for cleaning, painting, organizing and more. There are plenty of opportunities for families and children to work together if parents want to get kids involved. Summer Camps: Donations that make it possible for children from West Charlotte to attend Camp Grier or the BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life) here at First Presbyterian are needed now, as are volunteers. Regional Mission Trip: A mission trip to eastern North Carolina is scheduled for October to assist with flood clean-up in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
