1 Combined Worship 11:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. November 25, 2018
2 The Morning Worship of God The Lord s s Day November 25, :00 a.m. The Traditional Services of Young Meadows Presbyterian Church exist to joyfully worship the Triune God in Spirit and in Truth. We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:11 (ESV) Pre-Service Music Michael Wutzke, Organist Preparing Our Hearts for Worship See Page 7 Bell Toll Prelude Come, Ye Thankful People, Come... arr. Elvey Bonnie Wutzke, Pianist *Call to Worship Psalm 1:1-3 (ESV) Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat nor of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. * The congregation is asked to stand for these acts of worship. 2
3 *Hymn of Exaltation Crown Him With Many Crowns Page 92 *Invocation and The Lord s s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. *The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. Old Testament Reading Jeremiah 17:5-8 (ESV) (p. 645; lp 819) Ministry Moment Ukraine Mission Trip Porter Johnson Pastoral Prayer New Testament Reading Galatians 5:19-24 (ESV) (p 975; lp 1239) Worshipping the Lord With His Tithe and Our Offerings Thanks Be to God... Old Hundredth Children s s Lesson Children ages 4 through Kindergarten will be escorted to Children s Church in classroom 112. *Hymn of Preparation Psalm 4* Sung to the Tune: ST. ANNE Verse 1 Give ear unto me when I call, God of my righteousness: Have mercy, hear my pray r; thou hast enlarg d me in distress. Verse 2 O ye the sons of men! how long will ye love vanities? How long my glory turn to shame, and will ye follow lies? Verse 3 But know, that for himself the Lord the godly man doth choose: The Lord, when I on him do call, to hear will not refuse. Verse 4 Fear, and sin not; talk with your heart on bed, and silent be. Verse 5 Off rings present of righteousness, and in the Lord trust ye. Verse 6 O who will show us any good? is that which many say: But of thy countenance the light, Lord, lift on us alway. Verse 7 Upon my heart, bestow d by thee, more gladness I have found Than they, ev n then, when corn and wine did most with them abound. Verse 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and quiet sleep will take; Because thou only me to dwell in safety, Lord, dost make. *From Scottish Psalter; verses follow those in the Psalm. *The congregation is asked to stand for these acts of worship. 4
