3 MOVE With Us Do you have training or experience in Emergency Medical Response? We need your help in brainstorming and crafting a plan for Madison in the case of a medical emergency! Whether you are interested in simply sharing your ideas or you have a passion to write policy, we welcome you to the table. Please contact Ken Schripsema at kschripsema@madisonsquarechurch.org or ext. 214 to join the conversation at 8pm on Monday, March 11. Pies for Easter! Our Youth Ministry will be selling 10 different varieties of pies in the lobby after the services beginning today through March 3. They will be available for pickup at church on March 24, just in time for Easter. All proceeds will benefit the College and Justice Tour 2013 as our teens learn about the link between education and justice. This year, we will visit Tuskegee, Auburn, Mississippi College, and Jackson State University as well as the National Civil Rights Museum, Medgar Evers home, and the Perkins Center for Reconciliation, where our youth will have the opportunity to learn from the founder of CCDA, John Perkins. Thank you for supporting Madison's teens! Attention all who are 55 and older! Come for another great night of potluck eating, fellowship and singing. 5:30 pm Saturday, March 2, at Ron and Mary Boes home. RSVP Welcome aboard Don Bryant! Don was recently promoted to full time as our I.T. Manager to support the growing use of computers and technical equipment around the church. He will now be supporting our registration systems and leading the charge for our multisite tech infrastructure. Christian Education Assistance Available: Madison Square Church has established the Christian Education Fund to accept offerings for the purpose of providing assistance to families who desire to send their children to Christian Schools but are unable to pay the full cost of tuition. If you would like to apply for assistance, please contact Jay Laninga at for more information. Missionary Prayer: All are welcome to join the group that meets the second Sunday morning of each month at 8:45 am in room 302 to pray for each of our 12 missionary families. Madison Gospel Choir rehearsals have begun! We invite folks both young and old to join the gospel choir under the leadership of James Abney. The choir meets every week from 7-9 pm in the sanctuary and will lead us in worship once a month. Our Gospel Choir promises a time of rich fellowship and great gospel singing. We also want to extend a warm Madison welcome to James Abney. James has been the choir director for Bethel Church under the leadership of Bishop Abney for many years. Please cover the choir and our new director in prayer.

8 MADISON SQUARE INCREASES SUPPORT TO OUR MISSIONARIES Following is a letter that your Global Missions Team sent to our missionaries just before Christmas: Greetings to our precious missionary families! We thank God and wanted to let you know of a decision the Missions Team at Madison made last night at our meeting. Starting in January, we will be sending your check at the beginning of each month, and it will be for $350 (instead of $300) each month. Several years ago, we set a goal of serving twelve missionary families, and increasing the support we give each one, so we are beginning to fulfill that goal. Also we wanted to let you know that you may be hearing from Kinita Schripsema about how the Lord is leading her to be a spiritual resource to our missionaries. Her is kinitaathome@att.net, if you wish to contact her. You are in our prayers and we hope and pray that you will have a joy-filled Christmas! With love, The Madison Square Church Global Missions Team Our missionaries responded with gratitude for the increase in our gifts to them and for our prayer support. So we pass their thanks on to you, our congregation who support them! THANKS! DEACON and ELDER NOMINATIONS Dear Madison, It is the time of the year for the congregation to submit nominations for Deacons and Elders. We are asking you, over the next few weeks, to consider those in our midst who you feel are called to serve in these roles, and, with their approval, submit their names to Lori Robbins at ext. 202 or lrobbins@madisonsquarechurch.org, or fill out a nomination form at the Information Center. If you are approached by someone requesting to nominate you, please seriously consider this important service to the body of Christ. Agreeing to be nominated does not commit you to serving; it is only an acknowledgment that you know of no major obstacles to serving. Nominees will be given further information and appropriate time to pray over this decision. For more information on the process and the roles of Deacons and Elders, pick up the Deacons and Elders Update at the Information Center. Thank you for your commitment to our church! In Christ, Dorwin Gray and Linda Naranjo-Huebl, Council Co-chairs GET IN TOUCH! Madison Square Church Monday - Friday, 9:30 am 5 pm BWiarda@madisonsquarechurch.org for weekly updates.
