Tim and Angie Sliedrecht serve the Lord and you with Team Beyond, part of International Teams in Soroti, Uganda, Africa. Praises: - Ride for Refuge in North America raised $34,096 for the work of International Teams in Soroti! - The expatriate team and 40 Ugandans rode 25 km in support of the Ride for Refuge and stopped halfway at the Obalanga Mass Grave Site to honor the people who are buried there, and ended with a meal together. -Colin and Ronnie Rosser with Water for All International have joined Team Beyond and have been working with the people of Obulle to drill bore holes (sealed water wells), and are working with the local church to teach Farming God's Way to increase yield and profitability. They recently adopted baby Silas from Amecet in Soroti. - The Sliedrechts rejoice over their 3-year work visa recently granted their children's teacher, Kaitlan Teague. Please pray: - that God will raise up more workers to join their community teams. - that the Lord will provide the funds for the rehabilitation center and the sports center for street kids to be built on 3 acres of land that has been purchased recently, and that He will open a way for a house in town to serve as a drop in center for street boys. - that the work of Team Beyond will fulfill their mission of walking alongside the local church to reach out to the oppressed. Mark and Diann Takens-Cerbone serve the Lord and you with Peace of the City (POTC), an inner city outreach in Buffalo, NY. Praises: - The team had a wonderful experience canvassing their POTC neighborhood. - There has been a terrific influx of new teens for their Teen Empowerment Programs. - The POTC board is owning their mission well. - Four new teachable young staffers are finding their way with work, God, and their talents. 8 Madison in Wyoming Update Pastor Cisco Gonzalez January 2013 A personal thank you: Everyone, please accept my deepest thanks for your support of God s calling on my life. As most of you know, I officially left my job at Kuyper College on June 30, On July 1, 2012 I joined a movement; a movement our Lord started in order to reclaim lost territory and lost lives. Yes, I am referring to church planting and multiplication. The past several months, I have been on a learning curve. I have been learning about church planting methods and madness, about the city of Wyoming, about God and his passion to reach out to us. I also continue to learn about unchurched people. And I continue to learn about myself. A venue: We are excited to be meeting at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, on the corner of 32nd Street and Clyde Park. Beginning January 5, we will be meeting in their fellowship hall every Saturday evening, and at other times as agreed upon. Fellowship groups: It became apparent that God was leading us to build on Acts 2 principles: breaking bread, praying, reading and studying his word together. Thus we have started small group gatherings. We eat together, and all participate in food preparation. We come with foods from our ethnic orientation Latino rice and beans, Asian Spring Rolls, good old spaghetti, tacos, etc. We sing and worship together. A couple of our folks lead us in singing, usually in Spanish and English. However, the first week in January was a compilation of Spanish, English and Vietnamese, with Mia leading us in Vietnamese worship songs. We check in with each other by sharing joys, concerns, and answered prayer. This time is rich as we see God actively involved in each others lives. We have seen God move to connect people, we have seen his healing power and we have seen his love. GET IN TOUCH!
