5 About today s music: The prelude is one of six chorale preludes by Ethel Smyth ( ), a significant English composer of her era. She wrote operas, a Mass, and other orchestral, chamber, and solo works. She was a suffragist in the English movement and was imprisoned for two months because of it. Today we welcome our Fort Street Choir back from summer break and look forward to them resuming their regular schedule on September 10. For information on joining the choir, please see Marilyn Biery after church. We also welcome Arianne Abela, our interim director of the Fort Street Chorale for this year. Please mark your calendars. Needs women's dress clothes, sizes 18 & up. We also need men s extra large dress clothes, shirts, size 18 and up, men s belts, men s cuff links, and men s shoes, all sizes. OPEN DOOR MEAL PROGRAM THURSDAYS 9AM-11AM This program is open to the public. Between 7:30am-8:00am women and elderly guests may shower. They may also receive a hygiene kit and use the clothing bank once a month. Between 9:00am 10:00am, men may shower. They may also get a hygiene kit and use the clothing bank monthly. Guests seeking clothing and hygiene kits must present valid identification. Between 9 and 11am a full hot meal is served. Volunteers are welcome. 7 Flowers Reminder Contact the Worship and Arts Committee to purchase flowers for the sanctuary in honor of birthday celebrations, anniversaries, or in memory of a loved one the list is endless for God s grace. Write a check for $50 and indicate Worship and Arts. We ll do the rest! Please Use Envelopes for Sunday Check Contributions The count volunteers who total up the Sunday offering would appreciate it if check writers could fill out a pew envelope and use it to enclose your check. We use these envelopes as documentation to back up details of our deposit record. If you don't fill one out at the time of contribution, a volunteer must write one for you. The envelope also allows you to show precisely how your contribution is to be applied to our various funds.
