Survey (205 peple) majrity said we want mre cngregatnal singing, like blended wrship, cmmunin & bulletn imprtant, services nt mtvatng/inspiring but are spiritual, dn t like respnsive reading. Discussed the idea f ging t ne service year rund; think abut it and talk t thers; will discuss mre next meetng; if it happened, wuldn t be untl next January r maybe even next fall. Music Vn said that at the last meetng, the varius grups planned their music. Children s chirs will start practcing in Sept, first sing in Oct. 5 We have 2 yuth ging t Habitat fr Humanity n Saturday. Hpefully we can get even mre t g in Octber. I am hping t get the yuth invlved in ur new Sunday Schl curriculum they will be able t help in several ways and I am lking frward t geang them invlved as it is imprtant fr them t begin t take n sme respnsibilites in the church. EducaTn reprt: Rally Day is September 8 9am the kids will start in the sanctuary, teachers will be intrduced, and then the kids will be led ut t Sunday Schl. 10:30am teachers and yuth grup leaders recgnized and blessed. We have a new frmat fr ur Sunday Schl this year and we are very excited t try it. We will be ding a One Rm Sunday Schl fr children 3 years ld thrugh 6th grade. As I said, the jr. and sr. high yuth will be helping ut and there will f curse be adult teachers als. There is a team that has been wrking n this all summer and it shuld wrk very well. There will be sme bumps alng the way but I am cnfident that we will wrk thrugh them and have a very strng prgram. The One Rm Sunday Schl will be in Wesley Hall which will invlve sme set- up (taken care f by educatn cmmi=ee) and crdinatn with the snack table. (Sme discussin abut whether snacks shuld stay in the narthex r mve back t Wesley Hall). Backpack blessing and schl supply cllectn is this Sunday. Kids Hpe Rn has started t ask fr vlunteers. The prgram starts up in Octber. We have an educatn meetng cming up n Sunday. Is it k if educatn mves the cabinets back t Wesley Hall (frm rm 1) since we will be having Sunday Schl back there? We will als be adding a small file cabinet. Teacher training is Saturday, August 24 (includes Safe Sanctuary) 8:30 t nn, r Sunday August 25 (nly Safe Sanctuary). Thanks, Marianne
