Call t the public: Rbin Adams reaching ut t brthers and sisters shuld include use f telephne. Rbin feels that she has nt been reached ut t by parish as a newer member because n ne calls her t tell her what is ging n at the church. She feels that she has n cmmunicatin with ther members f the parish. She didn t get a bulletin ne time and there were n cpies left when she came t the ffice t see if there were any left. Al replied that we d understand yur cncerns. We d use bulletin bards, bulletins, newsletters, annuncements, ur website and ur highway sign t keep this infrmatin available. Jyce asked if Rbin wanted t have peple t call, r if she meant she wanted smene t call her when things were happening? The newsletter lists everything fr the mnth and is mailed t all f ur registered members. Father asked Rbin what she wanted t see dne what were her suggestins? Rbin replied that she is nt used t calling peple fr help. If yu are assigned t call smene, yu need t call them. Tammy asked what grup wuld have assigned smene t cntact anther persn? She is nt aware f any grup that assigns peple t cntact thers regarding events at the church. JAnn asked if Rbin was referring t a new parishiner, smene wh just mved t the parish, r smene wh just became a Cathlic. Rbin - replied that she was uncertain but the persn she was talking with may have been in the RCIA prgram and was never cntacted by their spnsr. JAnn replied that we dn t as Cathlics cntact thers we are respectful f the ther persn s needs. Each persn is in a different place spiritually, and we

2 dn t assume t push ur persnal devtins n thers. It wuld als be gd fr Rbin t ask peple yu are familiar with abut things yu may be interested in. Len asked if Rbin receives the mnthly newsletter. Rbin replied that she des, but she desn t always have time t read it. JAnn - mentined that the annuncements befre Mass are always a gd place t hear abut what is ging n. Rbin replied that she desn t tend t get t Mass in time t hear them. Father suggested it might be gd idea t bring back new parishiner packet. It is the persn s respnsibility t d with the infrmatin as they wish. He suggested we give them a Newsletter, bulletin, and a list f ministries. Tammy replied that when smene cmes in t register, we d give them a cpy f the current newsletter. When smene registers withut cming in, we send them a letter f welcme and a list f ministries, alng with basic infrmatin abut the parish. Al will draft a new member packet and will bring it t the next meeting. Public cncerns viced t Cuncil members: JAnn reprted that a chir member wuld like t see us have mnthly envelpes in different clrs fr building and maintenance fund (this was at her mther s parish) that allw fr a persn t indicate if they want the mney t g t a Building fund, r a Maintenance fund. Als, she wuld like t see us have electric candles available that wuld allw smene t pay $200 t stay lit fr tw peple fr ne year. Fr. Fred replied that ur envelpes cme frm a cmpany, and we dn t have many ptins frm which t chse. Our Building fund envelpe is already a different clr frm the plate envelpes. He wuld prefer that as few chices be made n envelpes as this can be very cnfusing fr the teams prcessing the envelpes each week. Jyce has received sme cmplaints abut the new red/green light fr cnfessin. Peple are sitting n bth sides f the dr, which is cnfusing as t whse turn it is. They dn t like where the light is lcated they say it is t difficult t see. Culd we put up a sign t help peple figure ut hw it wrks? Father Fred replied that it s a new prcess. Eventually things will wrk ut. One suggestin was t have peple turn the chairs arund the ther way t face the light. If peple wish t turn the chairs arund, they may d s, as lng as the aisle way is kept clear in case f an emergency. Pastr s Reprt: Capital Campaign Father reprted that we are prgressing as the Dicese has directed and that s far, as they hped, we are n track. Father has cntacted all f the peple he was assigned t cntact. 30+ peple have signed up fr the lunchen n September 17. The Campaign Cabinet is in place. In Octber, there will be an in pew presentatin when mre infrmatin will be available t the parishiners. Our Campaign will cnclude in Nvember. Father feels the Nrth Deanery will nt be as big f a cntributr as the Dicese has hped. Many parishes are currently underging cnstructin prjects, and many are in debt due t previus prjects. Whatever we get here at the parish will be the best we can d as we are ging t make ur best effrt t d as the Dicese has asked.

3 Cmmittee Reprts Audit Father reprted we did well with nly sme minr changes indicated. These changes mean mre frms, signatures, and time n behalf f staff, but did nt find majr issues. They want us t mve t an accrual system, versus ur cash flw system. Mst ther parishes are wrking n the cash flw system. At this time, we will cntinue as we are currently ding, until such time as we receive directins t d therwise. Drainage issues Father reprted that we have been wrking n this and have a few mre issues t crrect. This will be discussed at the next Finance Cuncil meeting. Despite all f the news we have nt seen a significant drp in the cllectin r attendance. Funeral ministry Father indicated that we have always had a dnatin basis fr the priest and the church. This will nt change. Hwever, the plicy regarding use f the hall fr a lunchen will change. Lunches have been prvided fr free as a ministry. This is being abused. Fr example, ne funeral fr a parishiner asked fr fd fr 125 and fd t g hme. The children weren t being mnitred, ne statue was brken, and they blamed the church because it wasn t secured. He is prpsing that a charge fr use f the hall, including mandatry insurance be set up fr thse wh are nt members f the parish, and they must prvide their wn caterer. Fr parishiners, lunch will have a cst if yu need fd fr mre than 75 peple, and nne will be prvided t g hme, ther than leftvers. Al made a mtin t have Father wrk with the Finance Cmmittee t establish a Funeral Ministry plicy. Len secnded the mtin. Apprved with all in favr. Fr. Fred reprted that he had received a cncern frm the suggestin bx abut nt receiving Precius Bld at all Masses. The Bishp requested that the Precius Bld be reserved fr special feasts and circumstances due t abuses he was seeing in the Dicese. This als shws better slidarity with the prer cuntries wh cannt affrd the wine fr every cmmunicant fr every Mass. Katie reprted that the Ladies are lking t participate in the Twn Hmetwn Christmas again this year. They wuld like t sell Keep Christ in Christmas magnets. They will be ding Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas baskets again this year. The Christmas Bazaar is ramping up, it will be the first weekend in Nvember. There is a Bunc/Ptluck n Sept 24 fr all ladies f the parish. Len reprted that the Knights will be prviding Father Fred with gift cards t use fr thse in need fr Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. The Knights BBQ will be n Octber 6th and the prfits will be split between SVdP and FOCUS Campus Ministries. JAnn reprted that the Chir has cncert cming up September 30 t benefit the Chin Valley Fd Bank. She als reprted that the Intentinal Disciples team tk August ff, and they are currently wrking n intrducing the ALPHA prgram at Embry Riddle.

Repairs t church celling have been cmpleted. the rf leak has been repaired. A leak in the Rectry rf has als been repaired. Parking lt drainage issues have mstly been cmpleted. Discussin regarding further repair will be dne at Thursday s Finance Cuncil meeting. Standing Agenda Items As bth items were apprved and vted upn in previus meetings, the changes will be made withut further ratificatin. Pastral Cuncil Retreat The date has been set fr January 12 beginning at 8:30 am with Mass. This will replace the January 14th regular meeting. The grup will discuss and evaluate the effectiveness f the Pastral plan based n the Pastral Cuncil Cnstitutin. The meeting is planned t adjurn at nn. Christmas n discussin ther than the things mentined in the reprts frm the grups. Member Cncerns Fr. Fred suggests an annual reprt t the Dean frm the Pastral Cuncil. This is already a requirement fr the Finance Cuncil. It is nt required frm the Pastral Cuncil but may be a very gd way t help us determine ur effectiveness. JAnn suggested that instead f asking peple t turn ff their phne at the beginning f the annuncements, we ask them t turn them n s that they can put imprtant infrmatin int their calendars. Then at the end, annunce that peple shuld turn ff their phnes. Al asked hw we are ding in regard t Safe Envirnment Training. Tammy replied that we still have 90 vlunteer wh need t take a Renewal class. We have three peple waiting t take a Fundatin class. The mst imprtant things t get cmpleted nw are the Reference checks and Interviews fr thse already in the system wh are missing these cmpnents. We are very clse t having this dne but need t get t 100%. Katie asked if peple wh are nt Cathlic can be invited t attend meetings such as the Ladies grup. Tammy replied that they are always welcme t attend a meeting r an event. Hwever, if they wish t vlunteer, Cathlic r nt, they must cmplete the Safe Envirnment Training. Father stressed, they are always welcme t attend and enjy any event they just cannt vlunteer. Father asked that we all keep infrmed abut Bishps meetings cming up this fall. Changes may be cming that we will need t address.
