By bringing Communion to our homebound you show how valued they are as members of the parish and meet Jesus in the lives of these people. Please contact the rectory at to let us know if there is someone who would like to receive a visit and Communion or if you would like to join this ministry. Training is provided. Hope for Housing Food Card Sale Food cards to benefit the Hope for Housing Program sponsored by the Interfaith Coalition To Prevent Family Homelessness will be available this weekend, October 20 and 21. Your continued support of this project is appreciated. Sales will remain the first and third weekend of each month. We hope you consider this project for your Holiday shopping and gift giving. 4 10/21/2018 Visitation House Baby Bottle Fundraiser From October 20tht through November 18 th, St. Columba parish is participating in a Baby Bottle Fundraiser to benefit Visitation House, a Catholic home for homeless women facing crisis pregnancies. Please support Visitation House by taking a baby bottle and filling it with your spare money. We are distributing the bottles at all Masses this weekend, and collecting them back on the weekend of November 17/18th. Give that a child may live. Your gift of whatever size will be greatly appreciated. The smallest gift from God is our greatest treasure. TWENTY-NINTH SUNDAY In ORDINARY TIME Chasing greatness Ruins of ancient empires can be found around the globe. We re awed by these traces of grandeur even as we re summoned to awareness of the passing of worldly power. Every nation in history that once sought to be great has the antiquities to testify to their achievement and the ashes to witness to its elusiveness. The only greatness that matters is the kind that lays its privilege down for the sake of the lowly. Dare to be great in the way of the Kingdom. Grant that in your glory we may sit one at your right and the other at your left. HAITIAN SEWING MINISTRY The Haittian Sewing Ministry is meeting again.
