4 Every year, the month of July offers a unique opportunity for our church family. As the summer heats up, our Adult Fellowship Groups go on hiatus and are replaced by a full schedule of special seminars. These classes are designed to help us think more biblically about topics we may not normally cover, give us a chance to hear from different teachers, and encourage us to fellowship outside of our regular circles. FEATURE The aim of Sundays in July is summarized in Colossians 1:9 10, where the apostle Paul writes And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Paul wanted believers to be filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding so that they would walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, please Him, and bear fruit. In the same way, Sundays in July seminars are meant to fill your mind with the knowledge of God s Word, so that you will live a fruitful life that is pleasing to God both in your service to the church and your evangelism in the world. 5 Along with this morning s Grace Today, you received a brochure listing all the topics that will be covered this July. As in previous years, there are a wide range of biblical, theological, and practical subjects offered. This year, however, there is an emphasis on contemporary issues. In a country that is changing quickly, especially during a politically-charged election year, it is important to be equipped to think biblically about the issues. This emphasis on contemporary issues is meant to help you build a biblical worldview and walk wisely in today s world. All of the seminars will be taught by our pastors, elders, and missionaries. We are also privileged to have Dr. Gregg Frazer, professor of history and political studies at The Master s University, teach two seminars about the beliefs of America s founding fathers. On July 24, each seminar will be taught by a Grace Church missionary, all of whom are back in the States for our biennial Missionary Conference. This is a unique opportunity to get to know these faithful servants and be encouraged by how God is working in other countries. HIGHLIGHT We hope you enjoy the full blessing of this time of refreshment. Our hope and prayer is that Sundays in July will equip you with the knowledge of God s Word so that you will be able to better walk, serve, and love in a manner worthy of our Lord when you return to your regular Adult Fellowship Group in August. Please note that although the regular Sunday morning Adult Fellowship Groups will not meet during this time, the schedule for the Nursery, Children s Ministry, Junior and Senior High Ministries, Spanish Ministry, and Special Ministries will continue as usual.

Proverbs 20:7 Grace Around the World The Alvord Family Bruce & Aimee, A.J., Shelby Serving in Ukraine Since 1992 Prayer / Praise Bruce s oldest brother, Kurt, just underwent cancer surgery. He has been the primary overseer of their mother s care, but has now moved to Utah for treatment. Pray that the Lord would save Kurt, who is Mormon, and touch off a whole chain reaction in the extensive Mormon side of the family. Pray for the many people who have recently been asking us questions about God. Faith Promise Last week you generously gave $9,571. Thank you for your ongoing support of our missionaries and their ministries around the world. Local Outreach Spotlight Castaic Jail Ministry Every Sunday, members from Grace Church go to the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic to proclaim the gospel.
