4 STM STM 2018 HOW WILL YOU SERVE? FEATURE GRACECHURCH.ORG/STM The triumphant gospel rings out, declaring to its hearers that God delights in rescuing lost people from their sin. God has entrusted this gospel stewardship to His bride, the church, and this past summer our church family responded obediently to this divine mandate. Grace Church sent teams across the globe to places like Albania, the UK, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Japan, Ukraine, Malawi, and Hong Kong all with the purpose of imparting the only message of reconciliation between God and humanity. While many models of ministerial success are measured against the ability to fill auditoriums, we prize the fact that God has granted us the ability to honor the gospel by sharing it with the world. We believe that it is the sending capacity, not the seating capacity, of a church that matters. We send the Christ-centered message of the gospel, rooted in the merits and the message of the One who saves, to a world in dire need of salvation from sin. being an institution that champions the gospel of Jesus and labors to make Him known. We have a rich legacy of men and women who have given themselves to gospel proclamation on STMs and have made an indelible and eternal impact on countless souls. While not always immediately perceptible, the value of a Short- Term Ministries (STM) trip becomes evident over time, in the fruit of the lives of those affected by it. What may appear to be a tiny advancement for the kingdom will often turn out to be a small seed that grows into a harvest of gospel-fruitfulness. Through God s grace alone, our church has a reputation throughout the world for

5 As a church, this is our motivation to excel still more in this ministry. We want STMs to continue to be marked by a God-centeredness in purpose, a holiness of life evident in those who serve, and wise, biblical, and culturally-appropriate methods in constructing each trip. Our desire is to send even more teams, with a view to reaching the most people we are able, as we seek to make the Savior known to the ends of the earth. Short-Term Ministries provide a great opportunity to be part of what the Lord is doing in strengthening, sharpening, broadening, and furthering the gospel s reach through Grace Church. You can get involved by supporting the STM teams with prayer and financial assistance, or by joining a team and going yourself. However you participate, know that our effectiveness in this task is based on the degree to which we grasp the significance of the work, the fervor with which we approach the task, the joy we encourage in others, and the willingness we have to sacrifice time, energy, and resources for the cause of Christ.
