Based on: Mark/Marcos 6: 1-13 The session/council of Westminster Presbyterian Church calls a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, July 22nd, immediately following the worship service, for the sole purpose of electing new members for the Nominating Committee. The nominees are: Diane McGaha, Consuelo Walker and Jerry Lamme.

2 DING-A-LING, DING-A-LING! IT'S NOISY COIN TOSS THIS SUNDAY, JULY 8TH! It's time for our monthly Noisy Coin Toss for the benefit of the Boys and Girls Club of Chimayo and Abiquiu. Each month we bring in our loose change...and bills, too are okay... and toss them in the pails that are passed during the service. Last year, through our Noisy Coin Toss, we were able to give almost $2,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Chimayo and Abiquiu. So, check those pockets and purses. Gather your coins, and bring them with you to the service this coming sunday! LET'S MAKE A LOT OF NOISE!!!!!!

3 Please join us for an interfaith time of Contemplative Silence, from 10:30 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning in the Sanctuary. Our group is open to the community all are most welcome to come, and to observe the silence during our time together in any way they wish. Each of us is different and there are so many doorways into meaningful silence and the listening and deepening it supports. Some will be practicing Centering Prayer, a beautiful and simple Christian contemplative practice. Come share the silence all are welcome! TAIZÉ SERVICE ON "SUMMER" SCHEDULE Join us for the Taizé service on the first Thursday of June, July and August. Weekly Taizé services will begin again in September. 4 ACCOMPLISHED WITH PRIDE!! For the 3rd year in a row, Westminster had a lively contingent in the Santa Fe Gay Pride Parade on Saturday, June 30th. Participating this year from left to right are: Brian Roberge, Cindy Piatt, Lee Walters, Mary Jo Lundy, Bruce Cebell, Margi Coxwell, Michael Brinegar, Charlene Cebell, Arvid Lundy, Dick Avery and Tony Aja. It was a joyful, celebratory parade cheered on by several hundred parade watchers. Special thanks to Michael Brinegar for providing the truck for our use and driving the parade. 5 FAREWELL BILL! On Sunday, our "man with the golden horn," Bill Taylor, played a joyous and jazzy postlude at the end of the worship service. Many have gotten used to Bill's trumpet accompaniement dukring our services. Sadly, for us, this marked the last time we will hear those tones for the forseeable future. This week, Bill is moving to Dallas, Texas to be closer to family. We will certainly miss him in the choir and our music program But we wish him well on this new journey in his life. Following the service at the cookout fellowship, we had a chance to say goodbye and to wish Bill well. We keep him in our prayers as he moves and establishes a new church relationship in Dallas.

7 Westminster accomplishes what it does because of those who serve. We treasure all Westminster family members and invite you to find a way to enrich Westminster's ministry and outreach. Currently there are two special opportunities for people to serve. 1. Become a member of the Greeters - These are individuals who make it their task to welcome new people to our church on Sundays: get them to sign our guest book and make sure that another Westminster family member sits with. If you would like to be a greeter, speak with Mary Jo Lundy, Tony Aja, or Brian Roberge. 2. We have been working on updating our website. Brian has limited skills in web design. We are in desperate need of someone with web design experience who would be willing to help us with that project. Our website and social media pages are an important way that people find Westminster and who we are. If you have web design experience and would be willing to help, speak to Alan Tway or Brian Roberge.

Let us remember that many countries do not have this same privilege, and perhaps welcome those who seek refuge here.

Thank you to Michael Brinegar for driving the truck in the parade. And thank you to the participants: Cindy Piatt, Dick Avery, Pastor Tony Aja, Mary Jo and Arvid Lundy, Margi Coxwell, Charlene and Bruce Cebell, Lee Walters, Brian Roberge and John, from First Presbyterian who joined us for the march. We were a lively contingent that was cheered by many along the parade route! It was wonderful to hear Bill Taylor s trumpet during the service on Sunday. We had a chance to wish him well in his move to Texas during the fellowship hour. We will miss Bill and this melodic horn as a part of our worship service. 10 Thank you to the Fellowship Committee under the leadership of Kim Sewell, for the stupendous cookout following service last Sunday. Chef Rod Sewell flipped burgers and speared hot dogs. Everyone brought so much to share we were able to furnish Santa Fe Need and Deed with a picnic at their Monday meeting. YAY! Thank you everyone! Next Friday, July 13, 2018 the TGIF Concert will feature Robert Marcus, clarinet & Edwin Light, piano.
