The distribution site this year is SPC and will take place on Saturday, November 21 st, at 11:00 a.m. after a worship service in our sanctuary. 5 Wednesday Night Live Classes I Could, I Might, I Can, I Should, I Will: Every day we see the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those around us. What are we to do about it? In his new book, I Could, I Might, I Can, I Should, I Will, best-selling author Thomas Rainer answers this question by offering nine simple traits that all believers can incorporate into their lives, no matter their background, stage of life, or sense of capability. This fall, Colin Martin and Mike Shelton will lead a discussion of this timely book. The class is meant to help us explore what it means to be a servant of Christ and a full, active member of the Christian Church. Copies of the book are available in the church office for $5.00 each. Wednesday Night Live Registration I will participate in the Beth Moore Bible Study WNL class. I will participate in the Moses: A Man of Selfless Dedication WNL class. I will participate in the Life 101 Basics WNL class. I will participate in the I Will! Nine Traits of the Outwardly Focused Christian WNL class. I will participate in the Fascinating Stories of Forgotten Lives WNL class. Name: Phone #: Beth Moore Bible Study: This study begins on September 16 th in the Adult Discussion Room and runs for 11 weeks. The focus this season is: To Live is Christ: The Life and Ministry of Paul. Journey into the life and heart of Paul the apostle with this in-depth study guide and you will discover him to be a man who formed many close friendships with both men and women, served faithfully, loved heartily, and understood what it means to die daily, "crucified with Christ." You will gain a new appreciation of servant-hood and how to live fully as a bond slave to Christ. As you study the Book of Acts and the Epistles of Paul, you will feel the challenge to follow Paul's example just as he followed the example of Christ (1 Cor. 11:1).This Bible study meets on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Study books will be available beginning this Sunday in the office for $16.00 each. Teacher/Facilitator: Heather Kemble. Moses: A Man of Selfless Dedication, by Charles R. Swindoll: Swindoll gives us straight facts based squarely on the truth revealed in God's Word. He also fills in the fine-line details of Moses' life with emotion and feeling, because Moses, like all of us, was a human being with faults and frailties. And finally, Swindoll helps us apply the lessons of Moses' life to our own daily dilemmas. When you face your personal Red Sea test, will you be prepared? Your decision to go forward in life instead of retreating will be bolstered by your having studied the real Moses of the Bible? The Moses who tried to decline his assignment from God; the Moses who dazzled Pharaoh; the Moses who received the Ten Commandments; the Moses who was sometimes disobedient and weak; the Moses who was the greatest leader of God's people in all of history; the Moses of faith and selfless dedication to his God. Teacher: Sam Ferguson. Life 101 Basics: Becoming an adult brings with it many new decisions and experiences. Many of these are very complex and have a significant impact on day-to-day life and the future, yet most of us venture into these new arenas armed only with the experiences of our friends and family to guide us. This class is designed as a survey course and will cover basic information regarding taxes, insurance, retirement planning, buying a home, and basic estate planning. The first class will be Estate Planning 101: In this class we will discuss what you need to know about estate planning and planning for incapacity including what happens if you don t plan. Other topics for discussion in this class include Powers of Attorney, Wills, and Trusts, when you need them, and what to look for in an estate planning attorney. Teacher/Contact: Virginia Spencer. Fascinating Stories of Forgotten Lives, by Charles Swindoll: Would you rather be a person of significance or a person of prominence? Pastor, teacher, and beloved author Charles Swindoll says, "We're trained to think that the most significant people are star athletes, actors, and musicians---the ones we applaud, those whose autographs we seek, those who have worldly renown. They aren't. Not really. Most often, the people really worth noting are those who turn a 'nobody' into a 'somebody' but never receive credit." The Old Testament contains numerous fascinating stories of forgotten lives---unsung heroes whose actions, sacrifices, or battles failed to ascribe them worldly renown. Swindoll examines little-remembered Bible characters and events. He'll help you discover Biblical principles and practical applications for living so that you can be who you are in God's estimation... a person of true significance. Teacher: Lamar Carney.
