2 I was thrilled to hear all the positive feedback about this year s video for the Catholic Ministries Appeal. I have a very positive experience of and support for the CMA and the video expressed it better than I can with words. If you did not see the CMA video last week then I strongly encourage you to go to the Diocese of Rochester website ( and watch it. It powerfully illustrates the excellent work that is supported and made possible by our participation in the CMA. Where Do Our Gifts Go? Many people wonder what those excellent ministries that the CMA supports are. I have included a chart on the next page that shows where the funds from this year s CMA will be applied. It is an impressive list and could only be accomplished by the participation of every parish in the diocese. Thank You Thank you so much for your kind and generous gift. NEXT WEEK I will share with you the great news of last year s success and how we can build on that success this year!

3 How to Say the Rosary 1. Make the Sign of the Cross and say the Apostles Creed. 2. Say the Our Father. 3. Say three Hail Marys. 4. Say the Glory be to the Father. 5. Announce the First Mystery; then say the Our Father. 6. Say ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Mystery. 7. Say the Glory be to the Father. 8. Announce the Second Mystery; then say the Our Father. Repeat 6 and 7 and continue with Third, Fourth and Fifth Mysteries in the same manner. Spiritual Fruit: Fidelity 1. Jesus, His Mother and disciples were invited to a wedding in Cana. 2. Jesus bids the waiters to fill the jars with water, and then draw some out and take it to the chief steward. 8. The chief steward said to the groom: "Every man serves the good wine first... but you have saved the good wine until now." 9. At Mary's request, Jesus worked His first miracle. 10. Empty Bowls began in a Michigan High School classroom and has become a popular event to raise awareness of the effects of hunger and food insecurity. This event has also become a successful fund raising tool that provides essential financial support for helping people in need. Participants walk away with a commemorative Em pty Bow l that serves as a reminder that hunger does indeed exist in our community. Fall is here, children are back in school and your Food Pantry is in need! Without school to help feed children, our supplies have rapidly depleted. With the holidays right around the corner, we need donations! Our clients need items like canned meals (e.g. Spaghettios, Beef Stew, etc.), tuna fish, soup, cereals, baked beans, cheese snacks, juice boxes, and fruit cups to name a few. You can also use the list posted on the church bulletin boards. You can leave donations in the church or at the Food Pantry. We are open Mon-Sat, 9am to 11:30am. We can also accept frozen food or refrigerated foods. We also accept monetary donations. Thank you for all you do for the less fortunate in our community.
