We had six extremely successful Lentin Fish Fries. During that time we served over 1500 people. I want to thank everyone who helped make this event fantastic. On Saturday April 2nd we have our 17th Annual Golf Outing. Again we need your support in running this event. Many of our brother Knights do not have an interest in golf or can not play. That does not prevent you from helping on Saturday. Many brothers helped with the goodie bag setup on Wednesday evening and will again help out on Saturday. I can not thank you enough for your support. At the March General meeting on 3/28 we had the first round of nominations for officer positions. If Grand Knight s Message you wish to run for a position, please contact me. We need you to step up and run for a position. Just because one person has put his name in for a position doesn t mean you can t run for the same position. The more people who run for an officer position, the better it will be for the council. It shows that we have a thriving council! We have our Tootsie Roll Drive coming up. It is only for 4 days and held at 3 locations. Please volunteer to stand outside a store for an hour and ask for donations for the handicapped. Contact Ron Rizzolo if you can help. I have made a decision to return to my Diocese of Sioux City, Iowa. I will leave on April 1 st. You will always be in my prayers. 5 V O L U M E 1 3 I S S U E 9 Father Laurent s April Message He is not here. He is raised (Mk. 16:6b). P A G E 5 Dear Brother Knights, The Liturgical season of Lent is now over. We are now in the season of Easter (for fifty days) until Pentecost. After Pentecost, we shall continue again with the longest season of the Liturgical calendar of the church, the ordinary season of the year, until the Solemnity of Christ the King and before the First Sunday of Advent which marks the beginning of the Liturgical calendar of the Church. In our spiritual journey during the Lenten season (for forty days), we prepared ourselves through the Liturgy of the church, different spiritual exercises, spiritual and corporal works of mercy, etc., all for the purpose of bringing renewal and conversion in ourselves and stay more connected to God and our neighbors. So we entered into the celebration of Easter well prepared and here we are in the joyful season of Easter. Jesus, the Son of God, in obedience to His Father and in His love for all people, suffered and died for the people to save them from their sins. His sacrificial death on the altar of the cross was accepted by His Father by raising Him up on the third day (Easter day). Jesus is alive. He is the cause of joy to His disciples. After strengthening His disciples in faith in Him as the Risen One, He sent them as His witnesses before the people starting from Jerusalem to the ends of the world. Let us always remember that the source of the Easter joy is the Risen Lord Himself who died and rose. He is now alive. He is strengthening us as His disciples since without strong faith in the Risen Lord, which the whole of Christian life is centered, genuine Christian life is impossible. Brother Knights, as present disciples of Jesus, the Risen Lord, we are also called to experience His joy and peace in our daily lives and witnessing Him before our brothers and sisters in our communities. It is good to know that the joy and peace of the Risen Lord is different from the joy and peace which the world gives. The joy and peace of the Risen Lord is inner joy and peace which no one can take away from us. This is the peace and joy which the Apostles (Peter and John) experienced even when they were in jail after being imprisoned by their persecutors. During this Jubilee of the Year of Mercy, let us never forget that we are Easter- minded people. People who have accepted God s mercy through His Son s death and resurrection and now living among us as the Risen One. He is the source of our inner joy and peace. He is the one who empowered disciples in the past and us today to witness Him in our lives. Let us live our day to day life as Easter people so that God may be all in all (1Cor. 15:28). Fr. 6 V O L U M E 1 3 I S S U E 9 Knight of the Month P A G E 6 The Knight of the Month was a very easy choice for me. I worked with many of our Brother Knights during the fish fry. There were so many to choose from. One of our Brothers has worked all the Fish Fries. He helped every Friday morning with the fish prep and then spent each Friday evening standing out by the fryers cooking. I am proud to name Ernie Caparelli as the Knight of the month. Family of the Month The Family of the month was a very easy choice this month even though we had so many families working on our many Council Events. One of our new brothers and his wife, who just joined the Columbiettes, helped our with the hall setup, serving and cleanup. This months family of the month is Ray and Mary Glaubrecht.

I adore Thee here present from the very depths of my heart, and I worship Thy sacred presence with all possible humility. O my soul, what joy to have Jesus Christ always with us, and to be able to speak to Him, heart to heart, with all confidence. Grant, O Lord, that I, having adored Thy divine Majesty here on earth in this wonderful Sacrament, may be able to adore it eternally in heaven. Amen.
