Our only place to turn when the distress of our sin overwhelms us is to God who mercifully forgives all who repent and turns their lives over to Him. Let us confess our sin in silent prayer. 3 PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Almighty God, forgive us for not trusting You to provide for us. We are anxious about all we have and if we have enough. We hoard our food, money and possession just in case we might need them. But You have created a world filled abundantly with all that we need. Help us to trust in Your providence and share Your blessings with one another. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Psalm 31:14, 16-17, 19) Leader: But I trust in You, Lord; I say, You are my God. Let Your face shine on Your servant; save me in Your unfailing love. Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to You; but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. How abundant are the good things that You have stored up for those who fear You, that You bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in You. 6 Announcements Oct. 26, 2014 Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead (James 2:17). Faith is invisible. The only way others can know you have faith is by a life that demonstrates it. ---Stewardship Committee An Inquirer s Class (New Members) will be held Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the church Fellowship Hall for those interested in learning more about the Presbyterian Church, or for anyone wishing to become members. Prospective members will meet with Session on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. to be accepted into membership, and will be introduced to the congregation on Sunday, November 23. DVD's of the Sunday sermons and adult Sunday school class are now available for you to check out and watch and then return to the church for others to use. They are on the table in the Narthex. In honor of Veterans Day, Glenwood Place Retirement Community, 2907 S. 6 th St., invite veterans of the US military to join them Tuesday, November 11, at 9:30 a.m. for a VFW flag ceremony. Monday, November 10 - Friday, November 14, veterans are invited to a breakfast served 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., dinner served at 11:30 a.m. or supper served at 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP at with a 24-hour notice for your free veteran's meal at Glenwood Place. You are invited to a Singspiration at First Baptist Church, 700 E. Olive St., on Sunday, November 2, at 6 p.m. for an evening of a Traditional Hymn Sing with special guest Mike Gerbo.
