Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

3 Let us seek to live in God s light by confessing our sins in silent prayer. SILENT PRAYER PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Almighty God, we confess that we feel more comfortable hiding in the dark than walking in the light. We are ashamed of our sinful ways and fear to have them exposed. Give us the courage to confess these sins and allow Your grace to remove them from our lives. Enable us to stand in the light as a testimony to the world that by Your grace all can be made righteous. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ASSURANCE OF PARDON (1Timothy 6:11-16) Leader: But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 6 Announcements Jan. 26, 2014 Heavenly Father, help me to wake up each day with the realization that You have a plan and a purpose for my life. May I use my gifts, talents, interests, and passions to build Your kingdom and to bring You glory. ---Stewardship Committee The PWC-CT will meet Tuesday, January 28, at 9 a.m. in the Lower Lounge. The first PWC general meeting will be held Thursday, March 6. We now have backpacks filled with items to keep young children occupied during church. The CE Committee is looking for a volunteer to maintain these backpacks. This job would involve refilling the blank paper, photocopying new coloring pages, and sharpening pencils. It would need to be done about every 3 weeks. Please talk to Cindy Butler if you would be willing to help with this ministry to our children! All women of the church are invited to come help make the quilts for Missions. No experience is needed as there will be jobs you can do. The next date to work on the quilts will be January 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring a can of soup to share for the lunch. If you can t stay all day, come for the time you can. The House of Compassion will hold their annual meeting at 1:30 PM, today, January 26, in the House dining room at 211 W. Church. Members of the community are invited to attend to hear the annual report and future plans, testimonies of clients, and tour the facilities. If you are interested in the mission of the House of Compassion, please attend our annual meeting. Wednesday Club needs YOUR help! If you can come help on Wednesday afternoons by riding the bus or helping with games or crafts, please sign up. If you can t help in the afternoon, please bring snacks or beverages. If you can t do either, please pray for this ministry and the children who attend. Please encourage our faithful volunteers. Thank you!
