2 The Messenger St. Peter Lutheran Church November 2015 FROM THE INTERIM PASTOR.. Two weeks ago I had the privilege of having breakfast with Benji and Angela and Konni in Waukesha Wisconsin. They are doing just fine and they are adjusting to their new home. Pastor Angela still gets lost driving her car so now we know she consistently does this in both urban areas as well as rural settings. I also got to have lunch with Brook Apple at her internship site in Dawson Minnesota. She too is in a placement that will both challenge and educate her. There have been many Interns before Brook so the congregation is very good at welcoming Interns and giving them opportunities to learn. Big changes for both of them. I have been with you for one year now and we have gotten to know each other well. I am part of the change that you are going through in finding a new pastor. It does take time and some things can't be rushed. I have also had fun joining in with you by serving pancakes to kids during the summer breakfast program, as well as being part of the assembly line in serving the pork loin dinner. I am amazed at what you do as a congregation. We have had some small group sessions focusing on where St. Peter Lutheran has come from and where it needs to go. On October 18th we invited other congregations in our conference for a conversation about shared ministry. The people from the Wabash Cooperative were with us to explain how sharing a pastor works for them and the joys as well as the struggles. This may be a choice that you will need to make and it helps to hear from others how it works so that you know better what you are getting into. We do now have a call committee that is beginning to prepare for the search of a new pastor. The first thing they will have to do is to update our congregations profile and this will take some time. By December we hope that they will be ready to meet with other call committees in our Synod for orientation and then begin to receive names to consider. The Holidays will slow this down somewhat and it is good not to be in too big of a hurry. Please keep these people in your prayers and tell them thanks for helping with this. Pastor Steve
