Altar Flowers or Sanctuary Candle If you would like to purchase altar flowers or a sanctuary candle in honor of or in memory of a loved one, please call the parish office. Please keep in mind that altar flowers and sanctuary candles may be purchased to honor the living as well as the deceased. They may also serve to convey thanksgiving for prayers answered or to celebrate occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. The Word Exodus 24:3-8...Taking the book of the covenant, he read it aloud to the people, who answered, All that the Lord has said, we will heed and do. Then he took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, saying, This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words of his. I hope to make this a permanent addition because Father McGuirk and I want to let you know about all the interesting events that take place year-round throughout the four counties which comprise our diocesan family. Thank you for your patience as I tweak the design and layout to keep you better informed and make your bulletin easier to read and understand. Your suggestions are always welcome! EMMA MONASTERY June Hours & info: or DONATIONS FOR TRASH N TREASURE SALE AT SAINT PAUL PARISH The Rosary Altar Society of Saint Paul Parish in Greensburg will be holding its annual Trash n Treasure Sale on Friday, July 20 (9 a.m.- 7 p.m.), Saturday, July 21 (9 a.m.-7 p.m.) with half off starting this day, and Sunday, July 22 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.). The Early Bird Special this year will be held on Thursday, July 19, from 6-8 p.m. There will also be a Bag Sale on Monday, July 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for $5/bag (except for jewelry which will be 25 cents and large items which will be half off original price). Donations will be accepted for housewares, toys, furnishings and other usable goods (NO clothing, baby car seats, extra large exercise equipment, encyclopedias, college textbooks, tires, console televisions, stereos, computer equipment except laptops or flat screens, monitors, cabinet sewing machines, or anything with Freon). Christmas trees will be accepted. These items may be dropped off at the church parish hall, located at 820 Carbon Road between the hours of 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday through Thursday starting Monday, June 4. Items may also be dropped off on Monday evenings from 6-8 p.m., starting June 4. NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING INSTRUCTION JUNE 18 The next Natural Family Planning CM-BBT instruction will be June 18 at 6 p.m. in the Catholic Charities office in Greensburg. JOHN S FIRE CELEBRATION AT DIOCESE HERITAGE CENTER JUNE 24 The Diocesan Heritage Center and Knights of Malta will host a St. John s Fire Celebration June 24, the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, at the Bishop Connare Center at 7 p.m. The event features guest chef Josh Ross of Pirata in Pittsburgh and the Cooking Channel. Suggested donation is $25. All proceeds benefit the Diocesan Heritage Center. Registration open for Pathways: Registration is open for the session of Pathways, the diocese s long standing commitment to adult faith formation and nurturing mature discipleship.
