Dear Brothers and Sisters, Welcome to Mass of the Eleventh Sunday of the Year. The Liturgy of the Word is on Page 42 of the Mass Books. Fourth Eucharistic Prayer (which has its own Preface). Teas and coffees are served after am Mass today and will be served after both 8.30 and Mass next Sunday. Retiring Collection The Retiring Collection this weekend is for the Parish Fabric Fund. Fair Trade Stall We have received a letter from Just Traid thanking our Parish for the wonderful amount of 2, which our stall has raised over the 2014/2015 period and they are very grateful to everybody involved. The letter is available to read on the notice board in the Narthex. The next Fair trade Stall will be held at the Parish Summer Party at the Cedars Hotel on Sunday 28 th June. Cafod+ Group Meeting The Cafod+ Group will meet again on Tuesday 30 th June at 7.15 pm.

3 The Faithful Departed Please pray for the repose of the soul of John Dillon of Crown Street, whose Funeral Service will be held in Our Lady s Church on Tuesday 23 rd June at 12 noon followed by Committal at Ipswich Crematorium and for his family. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament next Sunday Our special time of Adoration and Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament for the New Evangelisation and Vocations will begin after the am Mass next Sunday and run until Benediction at 4.00 pm. I hope you will be able to come and share with us for some of this time. The rota at the back of the church provides 15 minute periods. Will you come to pray for a quarter of an hour or more? We must have at least two people present to Watch and Pray at all times throughout the time of Exposition. This is a call to us all as a parish to pray on behalf of the whole Diocese, so we need your help, even just for 15 minutes. We also ask those who are sick and housebound to unite your prayers at home with ours on Sunday and during the following week. The Santal Mission The Jesuit Santal Mission has now been wound up due to the retirement of the national organisers. Over the decades you have donated so generously to the Mission and they thank you sincerely for all your support. We are giving to the parish of Siem Reap in Cambodia through the monthly coffee after 8.30 Mass. Parish Summer Party Sunday 28 th June at the Cedars Hotel. Come and join us for lunch with a barbeque and an opportunity to celebrate Father David s Pearl Jubilee, the Thirtieth Anniversary of his Ordination as a Priest. Very special Birthday Greetings Many congratulations and every blessing to Eva Bersanetti who is celebrating her 105 th Birthday today. Please remember Eva and all her family, her daughter Anita, grandchildren and great grandchildren in your prayers as they celebrate with her.

4 Week of Prayer for the New Evangelisation Sunday 21 st Saturday 28 th June The Icon of the New Evangelisation will arrive in our parish from Newmarket, as a focus of devotion for this week of prayer and will be solemnly received at each of the Masses of Sunday, 21 st June, beginning with the Mass at Woolpit. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from the end of Mass with Adoration continuing until Benediction at 4.00 pm. Monday 22 nd June The Feast of Saint John Fisher and Saint Thomas More 22 nd June marks the 480 th anniversary of the martyrdom of St John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester, in 1535 and of St Thomas More, former Lord Chancellor of England, a fortnight later on 6 th July and the 80 th anniversary of their canonisation in There will be a special Mass on Monday 22 nd June at am. Tuesday 23 rd June 6.30 pm Mass: Father Anthony Foreman will offer this Mass in Thanksgiving for his Golden Jubilee of Ordination, followed by refreshments in the Centre. Wednesday 24 th June Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist Mass at 8.00 am, offered for Vocations. Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, pm, concluding with Benediction at 3.30 pm. Thursday 25 th June am Mass, offered for the New Evangelisation (Cafod+ Group request) Friday 26 th June Feast of the Dedication of the Cathedral 8.00 am Mass, offered for Deep Simon and Bismy, to be married on 29 th June. No Exposition this afternoon. Saturday 27 th June am Mass, offered for the New Evangelisation, after which the Icon will be taken on to Sudbury Parish.

5 WELCOMERS 8.30 and Masses You will have met the members of the parish who greet you when you arrive for Mass on a Sunday and a holyday. Unfortunately we are in urgent need of new welcomers at both the 8.30 and Masses. At the moment we do one week in every four, but with more names on the list it will come round less often. All ages are welcome and individuals or families could become involved, with the family members making up a team of their own. Tasks include the giving out of the newsletters, Mass books and hymn books (if required) to the congregation as they arrive and encouraging members of the congregation to help with the collection of offerings and the carrying of the gifts to the altar. At the end of Mass there may be a retiring collection and the Mass books/hymn books will need to be collected and the church left tidy. If you do join us you will meet and get to know other members of the congregation who you might see every week but never get to speak to. If you can help with this very worthwhile task or would like more information, please speak to any of the welcomers at the Mass you usually attend or contact Pat or Wilf Tierney on The Choir at Woolpit Mass The small but enterprising and friendly group of singers at Woolpit Mass helps the singing of the congregational hymns and often sings a short piece on their own during Communion. They would welcome new members. Please see Father David or Andrew Duxson after Mass if you are interested.
